1. Aw, that was sweet of you to ask
I have joined the ranks of the employed once again...and trying to get used to my new schedule.
Ten o'clock is now my bedtime and I get up at FIVE. (ACK!)

Although I love having my own office with windows that open (YES!), the downside is that my bosses and co-workers are all republicans. All four of them, ha! I guess I could use the open windows to escape if need be!

The training at my new job is non-existent which is frustrating, but the experience I gain will be invaluable at finding another job which pays more and is closer to home.

Now for the other stuff...

I don't know what you call it, but I have been getting moments of insight into things when one two additional "signals" have occurred to seemingly bring emphasis to the realization.

Oh, and I am getting lots of the 1:11 and 11:11, too.

Not to sound too much like an old hippie, but it totally blows my mind! :hippie:

Once I get used to the new hours and get a routine going, I should be back to posting.
Just know I am keeping up with many of the threads.
How could I stay COMPLETELY away???
I love you guys!

2. I dunno if anyone will be reading this but I found this interesting
My daughter is caught up with an ex-felon, living with him in fact.
She is a recent college grad and has diagnosed him as borderline personality disorder plus bipolar disorder.
Already he has punched a few holes into the walls in fits of anger.

Well, I had not heard from my daughter for a few weeks and became quite concerned. After numerous messages to her voice mail, I decided to call my ex, which is her father, about the situation.

Realize that I left him because he was a control freak and had threatened to hurt me on a few occasions.
The Twilight Zone theme kept repeating in my head each time I said something which applied to how he had tried to control ME when we were married.

The conversation went like this:
Me: Well, you met Rodney at the graduation dinner but I don't think you know his background.
Ex: She said she was just helping him out.
Me: No, he is an ex-convict and has done prison time for what I am not exactly sure anymore.
Me: You know he is from down here and we had a falling out when I caught him stealing from me.
Ex: Hmmmm
Me: He is controlling her and trying to turn her away from her family.
Ex: *** silence ***
Me: He tries to make her feel inferior so he can control her.
Ex: *** more silence ***
Me: She keeps getting guys who are like this for some reason.

(meanwhile, I am getting a sort of deja vu experience of how my ex did the SAME THING to me...and here I am playing it back to him saying how it is happening to his own daughter by another man)

Time to come back to reality, and I propose to not alienate our daughter, as he is wanting to punish her for not apoligizing to him.

I suggest that he not push her away, but make it easier for her to break away from this control freak.
People suggest that I come down hard for her not keeping in touch with me, but Rodney is doing enough in trying to turn her against us that I am choosing to welcome her back with open arms. She is afraid enough of domestic violence from this creep. I have to make this path the easiest one. Being a Cancer, she is a sensitive soul.

It was just kind of ODD, having to describe what he is doing to HER, knowing my ex had done the same thing to ME to cut me off from the world. After each sentence, in my own mind I was saying "WOW", does this sound familiar or WHAT?

3. Hey girl!

Glad to hear you are still around! Things sound as though they are going pretty well for you, too.

Here's to your job AND hoping you find another even better one soon- (You know those repugs will 'get to you' sooner or later!!)

I have been thinking about your daughter and wondering just how she's been doing. I really feel for you. I can't imagine what it must be like being the parent in this situation. I think that you are totally correct in saying that you need to "make it easier for her to break away from him." I'm not sure that your x can get to the point where he can really help her yet. But, it sounds as though he seems to be listening to you and (if only tacitly) acknowledging his own past weaknesses.

As always, I am sending out prayers for your daughter. I had some girlfriends who, during their college years and for a short time after, lived with some real creeps. I especially remember a group of us going to visit my friend Susan, at the apt she shared with an ultra creepy guy, George. He gave us ALL the willies! We were SCARED of him and, we told her so. She graduated, got a great job and well, George was history as they say.

Try not to worry too much. Try to visualize her moving away from him effortlessly. And, see her strong and happy. His control over her will not be forever.

And, btw, it does sound as though he is Bipolar. If she should bring up 'his lying', or whatever, take the opportunity to help her understand what being bipolar is all about. She may get some real insight from seeing the bigger clinical picture.

Say in touch with us!

6. And you too, where have you been? ! I must tell you
Edited on Sun Oct-01-06 09:16 PM by Quakerfriend
my 10-year-old son, Nick, just loved your pic thread about Bitzy. He kept asking me to check back and see if there were any new pictures.

Then, about 2 weeks ago, he received his subscription to National Geographic Kids (Oct issue)and he announced: "Look, Bitzy is on the cover!" There on the cover is a black cat that looks just like your Bitzy! And, above the cat is the caption-"Animal ghosts" - No kidding!!

The cat looks exactly like Bitzy- with sort of strong jowls and that super shiny black fir!

Anyway, I have yet to figure out how to get a photo from photobucket and post it here... I'll send you a photo of the cover of National Geographic Kids when I figure this out. You'll love it!

9. oh, my! What a synchronicity!
I had to look up the cover you were talking about! Here it is:

http://www.nationalgeographic.com/ngkids/0610/2.html

That is so cute how he thought Bitsey was on the cover! The pic does indeed look like her!

Here's the pic:

and here's my Bits:

That is a very interesting write-up about the ghost cats of D.C.

Yes, tell your son I have many more pictures and one of these days I will be putting them up on the thread. One funny one is where I was teaching a class one night and I was snapping pictures of my students while they were working. I was taking pictures because we are studying nonverbal language (body language) and I wanted to give the students some feedback on what their body language said.

Anyway, later that night I uploaded the pics to my computer and looked at them. There were two students sitting in front of the window. And who was sitting there between them? Yep, the Bitsey-Boo!

You haven't seen much of me because I'm so engrossed in these photos. There is so much to them. There are other figures in the pictures, I'm finding. Sometimes I look and look and look at them. There is an art to looking at them, too, I think. If I look at them on a regular basis, it is easier to see the different figures but if I skip a day or two, it takes time to get back up to speed.

Also, I've been locating apparition pictures from all over--mainly metaphysical and ghost-hunter groups--and looking at them. I'm finding my pics are very similar to those of others who have captured apparitions.

I almost feel like I could write a book about this! It's so fascinating I could devote way more time to it if I had it (the time, that is).

I want to try some photographs at the mansion. My neighbor and friend know there are two ghosts hanging out there and we want to see if they'll come through. I've seen one of the ghosts. I wonder if he'll come through.

Anyway, I was thrilled to read your post about your home (post below)! I'm so excited for you! Please keep us updated on all that goes on!!

5. Well This Thread
has some nice people. And unless I'm mistaken, our favorite Quaker hasn't been much visible lately either. Nice to know folks are still here/out there.

7. Hey, my friend ! Nice to see you too!!
I hope you are well. This is like a little reunion, eh?

I'm sure you are missing those Fitz threads... you little blood hound you.

You really impressed me girl! Keeping all those details straight is not easy!!

Anyway, I think he's still on top. We shall see, right?

We are moving in a couple of weeks to a wonderful new house! There is a greenhouse on the property so, I will be growing my greens year round for juicing. I'm so excited! This place has lots of peace and quite and, I am so looking forward to getting back to meditating and re-connecting with the land.

Funny, my husband thinks that maybe I 'should be' getting back to work! Little does he know, I am looking at this as an oasis. I can't wait to get there!

Will keep you posted! Much love to you, dear friend.

A.

8. GREENHOUSE!
Sorry for yelling but it sounds so wonderfully fantastic. I won't say I envy you (though it does sound soooooo enticing) I'll just be glad someone who will love it has a greenhouse. Yes, Plame does seem tampered down though it is still going on. I still believe that we haven't heard the entire story and that there will come a time when the truth will come out and be told.

"How long? Not long, because no lie can live forever.
"How long? Not long, because you still reap what you sow.
"How long? Not long. Because the arm of the moral universe is long but it bends toward justice."
-- Martin Luther King, Jr; 25 March 1965

Blessings on your new house.

10. My dream.
A greenhouse, and room to grow food in general.

Will you raise sheep, too? For wool. Just curious.... Make cheese? Those are my fantasies.

I spin and dye wool, but don't really have the time, and certainly don't have the sheep.
