Pray for Me-Swollen Feet
Edited on Thu Sep-28-06 04:29 PM by divineorder
For two months now, I have had swollen feet and ankles that have become cracked and dry. I've had tests, and so far even the doctors seem baffled at the cause. No trace of heart or abdominal trouble, but my feet and ankles hurt. I know I haven't always been the best with self-care, but my ADD didn't leave me much in the way of organizational skills. Now medication has made me more organized, but I wonder if something is going on with that too.

Also pray for me to finally get my house renovation and cleaning finished and in hand. I want to correct some errors I previously made when exhausted, like not painting certain portions properly, to finally clean out my closet(s), arrange old papers, get my carpet cleaned, tile laid, and filter installed. The result I hope is beauty and efficiency combined, so I can spend more time on self-care and intellectual pursuits. Oh, BTW, pray for my kitty and for me to get and give better care to her.....

Thankx.

1. If your MD is puzzled, it may be time to consider alternative med.
You may want to check out an acupuncturist who also practices Traditional Chinese Medicine or a naturopath. They have a different approach and may be able to help you.
I wish you the best.

2. Are there alternative practitioners who take insurance?
Acupuncture sounds good, so does naturapathy. But money is an issue, despite recent improvements.

3. Some do
It can't hurt to try, just cost you maybe 30 minutes and a few phone calls. Good luck!

4. I will pray that you get everything accomplished that you want to get...
accomplished and that your health problems go away. (This or something better for the highest good of all involved.)

I hope that you feel better soon, divineorder.

5. Blessings to you, dear. After having worked in clinical medicine
for 17 years, I would guess that your swollen ankles and cracked skin may be related to 1) an allergy to meds or 2) an allergy to a certain food... possibly peanuts. Have you been eating a lot of peanuts lately??

Anyway, just a guess. I have known those with cracked skin on palms of hands to actually have an allergy to peanuts. May I suggest you type in your exact symptoms at abchomeopathy.com- You may find the solution there.

And meanwhile, prayers are going out to you re: a completely beautiful abode and purrrrrrrrrrrrfect kitty!;-)

6. At first I was going to answer no

But I realized that I eat a fair amount of peanut butter. My cat has fleas, too, and I am going to treat her and give her a bath. Perhaps my allergy has to do with that? It's not my soaps: I bathe in Dr Bronner and Ivory these days. I moisturize with pure shea butter now.

I have a question. I went to the homeopathy site and got this remedy:Lycopodium Clavatum 3X . How good is it?

I found that strattera can cause some liver damage. I looked at the symptoms: I have itching and dry mouth. I will tell my doctor in the morning about these symptoms. I just thought it was high blood sugar, but I'm not hungry, not really compelled to drink all that much, but I have dry mouth. Hopefully there is another medicine (non-stimulating) that I can try, or that he could adjust my meds to a lower level. This discovery makes me sad, because for the first time in years, the organizational side of me has awakened and is working fully-as if I can access the necessary memory and logical part of me.

7. People can be allergic to flea bites
Also, could you be allergic to your shoes or socks? Or your laundry detergent?

I have multiple chemical sensitivities. My dermatologist told me to use Cetaphil soap -- cheapest source for the bar soap is Target at $2.99 a bar. I can't tolerate Ivory or any other regular soaps and shampoos. I can only use shampoos that don't contain sodium laureth sulfate. And I've been washing my clothes in Shaklee Basic L Free for almost 20 years.

These are just some things that have helped me.

I hope you find answers and healing quickly.

8. Today, I skipped my med
And the dry mouth is going away, and I don't have that burning sensation in my throat. I had a heavy sweat (probably from retained water). And I feel a little better. But I still feel sad because my ADHD was being treated so well by the previous medication-I feel more intellectually awake and aware. But I'm not taking any more until I've had a talk with my doctor. BTW, he has only one test left, and that's a heart scan. Nothing else has shown up in my labs as a cause.

My area carpet is being taken up tomorrow for its annual cleaning. Next friday, it will be laid down on a new tile floor that is much easier to clean than wood. I'm going to buy kitty a new and better litterbox and a fresh mat. She gets cleaned tomorrow, too.
