Anyone interested in starting up the manifestation group, again...?
Edited on Tue Sep-19-06 05:56 AM by bliss_eternal
Please let me know here...

For those that weren't around previously this was based on a thread discussion we had going here about synchronicity. We talked a lot about how the things we focus on seem to suddenly appear on our lives. We took it a step further and thought it would be interesting to start focusing in on aspects we'd like to manifest in our lives at present. For example, it could be material items, a better relationship with your mate, a new friend, embarking on a spiritual practice, healing a situation in your life...whatever.

Basically--whatever you want to BRING into your life: energy, items, people, situations, etc is what you want to focus on.

I'll try to find the threads where we discussed this and link them here so people can get an idea what I'm talking about.

On edit these are the threads that inspired the manifestation check-in:

Here's the original synchronicity thread:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=245&topic_id=14720

Here's part 2 of the original synchronicity thread.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=245&topic_id=22072

This is one of the manifestation check-ins:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=245&topic_id=17166

Anyway, if interested--just state so here and we'll take it from there!

I think previously we just said we would check in on a thread from time to time and let one another know how we are progressing toward manifesting our desires--whatever they may be. If anyone has other suggestions for how we check-in or handle this, feel free to share. This is very flexible and open. No one should feel constrained or like there's a right or wrong way to do this... :)

best,
bliss :)

2. Wow--it's like you read my mind, Ohio Blues!!!
As I was typing this post out, I almost erased it, thinking--Augh! No one wants to do this! As I pushed through that, I wondered (and hoped) as people expressed interest there may be a way to find out what the lunar cycles are--in terms of when would be the best time to do this.

:wow:

And along you came with the EXACT thing I was wondering!

...wow, just wow...! :hi:

5. I think that this is a great idea, bliss_e. Many people have been...
very interested in "The Secret" and the Law of Attraction. This would be a great way for people who are trying to use its principles to check in. (Of course, anyone who's using some other method other than what's described in "The Secret" can also join in since there are many ways to manifest things into our lives.)

8. An appropriate section from the book votesomemore linked:
Edited on Tue Sep-19-06 11:47 AM by lildreamer316
I just found this compelling and the author is very insistent about one ALWAYS getting an answer. There's a LOT more in this chapter Cosmic Law, but this is the part I was thinking about as I read your post.
(note: book is free on web, per DU rules I will post 3 parag. or less)
http://paxtonrobey.com/
<snip>
"If we feel timid or undeserving when we communicate with the universe that will cause the universe's response to be one which could be accepted by an undeserving person. A little assertiveness is appropriate when talking to God. Remember that God is not an ego which can be offended. God is principle. God is unwavering cosmic law. When you decide to pray for something, tell God how long she has to answer your prayer. Tell her that you want to know within three days time why you do not have this or that in your life. Then watch very carefully for those three days.

If your friend is in a coma in the hospital and you are feeling very uncomfortable with the uncertainty of his predicament, ask for a sign. "Is my uncle going to get well or is he going to move on? You have twenty-four hours to let me know." If you then miss the sign, do not blame the universe. Cosmic law states that if you ask, the sign will be there. Demand feedback from the universe and do not walk around in the dark for one more instant. It is every child of the universe's birthright to have a talking relationship with God all day every day. Be willing to say that you want synchronicity and coincidence and strange things happening in your life. Declare unto the universe, "I don't want to go through a single day without something totally weird happening to me that tells me there are no accidents."'
<end snip>

34. whoa ..
I have to admit I have not had a chance to read that ebook yet. Maybe just not the right time so far. Have been dealing with some reconnection real life issues. But that is an awesome quote.

The reconnection issues have to do with the faith I had as a child and young adult. I was raised traditional Christian, but I took things literally. Want something? Ask. It used to drop some jaws when I reported how those things worked out. So I stopped reporting. This seems to be coming full circle now though. Because I am stepping back out into the possibilities.

This is so exciting!

9. I'm in!
Got plenty to manifest, lemme tell ya, especially since--get this!--this morning my spirit guides took over a simple e-mail I was writing to my boss and had me include a (polite) rant about how my job has taken an unpleasant turn (a writer not writing? perish the thought! it's enough to make me work hard to avoid spontaneously combusting) (she says carefully, so she does not manifest spontaneous combustion).

The worst part was, the e-mail included a threat that I might quit--which I didn't even SEE till after it was gone! :wow:

I thought I was saying that if I didn't get writing assignments from my direct boss the way I used to, I would volunteer for others within the department--but the way it was worded sounded like if I didn't get satisfaction, I would find another job. YEESH.

So yeah, I have a lot of things to work out in my life. (Ya think? :D )

37. Exactly
My friends and I were discussing how we limit ourselves and therefore have trouble manifesting. For me, I keep thinking I have to stay here and "fight the good fight" and try to make my round peg fit in their square hole.

Well....WHY?

Who says I have to stay here if I'm not going to be writing? I don't MIND being an editor, but I need to be creative (writing-wise). And if it's not here, then...so what?

It's very freeing when you recognize the subconscious limitations and get rid of them--talk about all kinds of doors opening when you say "why not?" and "so what?"

17. Sure, I'll chime in
:hi: I've been very much inspired by "The Secret" movie.
Actually, I started with the Go Gratitude experiment back at the beginning of this year.

www.GoGratitude.com/masterkey

This had led to another thing-"the Daily Om" and then I learned of "The Secret" from this fascinating forum.

From there, I found out that a friend is a Rosicrucian and usually never tells anyone but since I spoke of the movie, she told me a little about it and of Esther Hicks.
I've since found out that the book referred to in the Secret is "The Science of Getting Rich"-(I posted the link in one of my "sink like a stone" posts,lol-maybe it'll do better here.)

http://www.icreatereality.com/tsogr.pdf

You can read the book on line. I've read it and found it interesting. I like the phrase, "thinking in a certain way..."

so, I've had lots of little, interesting day to day incidents and am now seeing my life changing as I go through this buffer of time. I've gotten to the point that when I wake up, my first thought is usually "Gee, I can't wait to see what happens today..."
So, I'd like to join in.

I went to her website http://www.abraham-hicks.com/
There's alot of interesting reading here-and you can listen to MP3's of their free CD (except for postage:) )

The Rosicrucians are also "mentioned" in the Secret-some of the illustrations show the word as it fades out-I didn't see that at first-until my friend told me about them.

http://www.rosicrucian.org/home.html

As you can see, I'm quite interested in this!

I mean, one of them. The Abraham-Hicks one that seems to sum up the Secret is "Ask and It Is Given"; and I just happened to be wandering around the bookstore the other day and BAM! there it was. So I grabbed it.

Do try the online book I quoted from upthread too...not that there's a bunch of newinfo there, but the way she presents it is clarifying for me, anyway. Lemme know if it speaks to you.

24. I've looked into the Rosicrucians in the past and found them to be...
very interesting, and I was quite drawn to most of the things that are available to non-members. (It's my understanding that much more information is available once you take some kind of oath. However, I'm just going from memory, so I might be wrong.)

For example, check this out:

http://www.rosicrucian.org/publications/declaration%20of%20human%20duties.pdf

I think that this will speak to most of us.

There were a few things that I found to be difficult because I'm not someone who handles being given absolute rules very well. However, if I were a person who was able to live with certain things being dictated to them, this order would be something to which I would be very drawn.

26. I found the text somewhere else. (The original link is to a PDF file...
so is it possible that you're having problems reading PDF files?)

Here's the text:

DECLARATION OF HUMAN DUTIES

PROLOGUE

As soon as humans became aware of the need to live in organized societies, they created diverse forms of government
in order to assure the administration of these societies. To date, it appears that the interests and aspirations of individuals
– and more generally nations – are best expressed through democracy. In fact, even though democracy is not perfect and
includes many weaknesses, democratic societies are currently those that best protect Human Rights such as they are defined
in the Universal Declaration.

Respect for the rights of all is certainly the basis of any democracy. However, any democracy that does not encourage
respect for the corresponding duties bears in itself the seeds of decadence and fosters the emergence of a dictatorship. As
history has shown, a society’s good governance depends on the proper balance between every individual’s rights and duties.
When that balance is lost, whether at the level of the citizens or of those who govern them, the most extreme totalitarianism
takes advantage of the situation and plunges those nations into chaos and barbarism.

At the dawn of the 21st century, we note that in many countries that have enjoyed democracy for a long time, the rights
of the citizens are emphasized over the duties that are incumbent on them as human beings, and thus the balance between
the former and the latter is, if not lost, at least quite threatened. Being concerned that this imbalance could increase and
lead to a deterioration of the human condition in those countries, we submit this Declaration of Human Duties to all those
who share our concerns:

DECLARATION

Article 1: It is each individual’s duty to respect without reservation Human Rights such as they are defined in the Universal
Declaration.

Article 2: It is each individual’s duty to respect him- or herself and not to debase his or her body or conscience through
behaviors or practices that jeopardize his or her dignity or integrity.

Article 3: It is each individual’s duty to respect others, irrespective of race, gender, religion, social status, community, or
any other apparently distinctive element.

Article 4: It is each individual’s duty to respect the laws of the countries in which he or she lives, being understood that
such laws should be based on the respect for the most legitimate rights of individuals.

Article 5: It is each individual’s duty to respect the religious and political beliefs of others, as long as they do not harm
human beings or society.

Article 6: It is each individual’s duty to be benevolent in thoughts, words, and deeds, in order to be an agent of peace in
society and an example to others.

Article 7: It is the duty of each individual who is of legal age, and in a fit condition to work, to do so, whether it be to
support his or her needs or his or her family’s needs, to be useful to society, to grow personally, or simply not to
sink into idleness.

Article 8: It is the duty of each individual who is responsible for raising or educating a child to instill the child with courage,
tolerance, non-violence, generosity, and more generally, the virtues that will make the child a respectable
and responsible adult.

Article 9: It is each individual’s duty to assist anyone in danger, whether by direct action, or by doing everything necessary
so that qualified or authorized people can act.

Article 10: It is each individual’s duty to consider the whole of humanity as his or her family and to behave in all circumstances
and everywhere as a citizen of the world. This means making humanism the basis of his or her behavior
and philosophy.

Article 11: It is each individual’s duty to respect others’ goods, whether private or public, individual or collective.

Article 12: It is each individual’s duty to respect human life and to consider it the most precious good existing in this
world.

Article 13: It is each individual’s duty to respect and preserve Nature, so that present and future generations can benefit from
it on all planes and consider Nature a universal heritage.

Article 14: It is each individual’s duty to respect animals and to truly see them as beings that are not only alive; they are also
conscious and feeling.

EPILOGUE

If all humans carried out these fundamental duties, there would be few rights left to demand because everyone would
benefit from the respect due to him or her and could live happily in society. This is why any democracy should not confine
itself to promoting a “State of Rights,” otherwise the balance mentioned in the Prologue cannot be maintained. It is also
imperative to advocate for a “State of Duties,” so that every citizen expresses what is best in humans in his or her behavior.
Only by resting on these two pillars can civilization fully take on the status of humanity.
