express how grateful I am for having "stumbled" onto this forum and found a community of like minded souls who are so loving and blessed that I sometimes it feels like I've hit the lottery.. Though we may not always agree on everything and we may take different paths through this obstable course we laughingly refer to as Life, each one of us have been imbued with a piece, however infinitesimal it may be, of our Maker. I believe that the small facet of the Creator, whether you refer to God as He or She, Father or Mother, is what draws together like the opposite poles of a magnet and compels us to strive toward making living on this galactic minefield called Earth a little better for everyone, whether they be reasoning and loving critical thinkers, deeply spiritual dreamers or the impossibly thick headed followers of Pinhead the Magnificent and his merry band of liars, murderers and brigands.
I was once asked by a Muslim why I as a Christian worshipped three Gods, (an obvious reference to the Trinity). I knew that it was important that I answer this question with the all the wisdom I had and a little I needed to borrow from somewhere outside of myself. I listened to the question, considered it in silence, ( not easy for someone like me who can talk you to sleep), said a small prayer asking for the most eloquent and simple analogy this Aquarian could come up with. I was shown a picture in my mind's eye and then knew I could confidently answer.
I explained that Christians were not pantheists but that the Trinity could be explained by using the most common element on Earth, carbon but dressed up considerably---the polished and facetted diamond. "The Trinity is like looking at the face of a perfectly polished and cut diamond. Although it's one stone, it has many facets. Each facet has a sparkle, a glint that is beautifully brilliant, yet alone, would as quickly lose it's glorious impression, becoming nothing more than a mirror. So, you see that what we believe is that The Creator, the Son and the Holy Spirit are most simply described as different facets of the same stone." He thought about it and then looked at me with a wry smile and said, "Your answer has made more sense than I have ever heard from anyone and I am an old man of 79."
I said all that to say that I believe there exists in each of us a small part of that Divine gem in our hearts and the brilliance of those facets are even more robust in people like you. I thank you for reminding me of the gift of other elect who work everyday to reflect the light of God in this old scarey and oftentimes, dark world. As we all know, working for the betterment of the world doesn't mean any one of us is perfect but possesses the sincere desire to make a difference, however small they may be. Thank you so much for each and everyone of you and know this....I plan to include you, all of you, in a special prayer service I do 2 to 3 times a year and I get fancy too, with Holy water from a place of Documented miraculous healings, Frankincense, myrrh and dragon's blood. I throw in annointed and inscribed candles too. "Real Cadillac", as a great uncle used to say. Miracles have happened time and time again. Please feel free to send me your requests and I promise to include them in prayer.
Thank you again, you'll never know how grateful I am and will always be..
