Rick DiClemente's Starself for September '06
(I'm posting this information for new DUer ricochetastroman -- Rick DiClemente)

Welcome to September. Lots going on this month. With Pluto having been reclassified, Saturn currently in opposition to Neptune, and two Eclipses (sometimes we get three in one month), there’s much to discuss. I was tempted to talk some about John Mark Karr’s chart, but he’s gotten enough press, right?

<snip>

Well, we have all this hoopla over Pluto being declassified now as a “Dwarf Planet” status. Whatever. It’s still Pluto, and Pluto is still the big butt-kicker of the zodiac. Period. This very well may symbolize a meaningful turning point in the function of Pluto. Likewise, the time of discovery of the planets has consistently coincided with major events on earth that reflected the nature of the planet. See Richard Tarnas’ epic book on the subject, “Cosmos and Psyche”. Therefore it surprised me to hear that the fine American Astrologer, Robert Hand, didn’t think that the demotion of Pluto was meaningful. I have to respectfully disagree. In accord with Tarnas, why would we have notable experiences on our planet happen to coincide with the time we “discovered” it? The planet was there all along. Likewise, it seems to me, intuitively, that this major change in Pluto’s status will come to be seen as symbolically significant. How? Well, since Pluto rules the Unconscious among other things, perhaps the “U” in the Collective Unconscious has been “demoted” to a lower-case “u”. Just maybe the great schism that was once the Unconscious has narrowed. Have we evolved to the point where our own unconscious minds are not so mysterious and unreachable anymore?

On another topic, as was stated in the past few issues, Saturn’s opposition to Neptune (sitting on the U.S. chart’s Moon in Aquarius) was going to bring the U.S. to a position (Saturn) of wanting to stop or limit the seepage (Neptune) of illegal aliens into the country. On 8/23 Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff told Washington reporters: “The Catch-and-release' era of illegal immigration is over.” Now, nearly all non-Mexican illegal immigrants caught sneaking into the United States are being held until they can be returned to their home countries. Saturn is at work indeed. Is it too late?

6. Welcome Aboard Ricochetastroman!
I am an empath and not a very proficient one at that. I am always glad to see others spend some time on DU in our AASAHG threads. It is one of the best places in DU IMHO. Somehow it seems like this is a place where we can all sort of work as a group each to their own talents, and accomplish a few things ~ like light and healing and prayers becoming sort of One Voice to help people. As someone who spent most of my life wondering what the hell was wrong with me because I did not know or understand what I was, this place is a comfort and it is often healing place to come for me. So when the poitics of the world get real depressing, well I come here for healing and to use my talents perhaps to help create a little light in the darkness (like directed toward DC) in a way no activism ever could! Plus, since we alternative folks are usually are few and far between out there in the world, we could use all the help we can get, lol!

Love,
Cat In Seattle

12. Hi Vote, yes, I'm still here
Hi, yes, the new issue is out early this month at:

www.starself.com/newsletter11.html

I'm away at a Psychic/Astrology festival all weekend and had to release it early this month. I usually release each new issue the last night of each month.
I hope you enjoy October's issue. I'm very encouraged by the Sun traveling in trio with Venus and Mars most of the month, and also by the traveling T-square to Jupiter in Scorpio.

I'm also excited to be getting a new office, twice the size and close to interstate.

Take care

Sun and Mars are two biggies for me .. though I don't understand much of astrology at all.

I do believe that Venus is a pest, though. Love, eh! The greek love, (I've forgotten my Greek) . but the one for friendship and not the bedroom kind? .. well that is looming large. I haven't read your whole forcast yet. Takes some time. And a very entertaining time it is.

Again, Thanks. I'm sure it will trigger some great discussions here.

20. Venus a pest?
I've never heard of Venus as a pest. Of all the planets, I'd say it's the lest "pest-like". I dunno. What makes you think so? Libras do like to argue and Taureans can be stubborn, but it's not because of Venus.

Glad you were paying attention because I expected some disagreement on Venus. Convince me she is cool.

Leo Sun . Leo Rising . Libra Moon. .. wishy washy Leo, who a lot of people think is extraordinary, that confidence thing, but behind lies a let's just see how things go kitty.

But damn it! If anyone wants to feel special, who they gonna call? Sunshine! Ask HippieChick. We both know how this goes.

edit: My son is a Taurus sun, Libra moon. We've alway been close. But he is so damn stubborn.
I had a Taurus roommate for years. I learned to expect the first words out of his mouth to be "NO". Give him a few days and then he would come back and say, well that might not be a bad idea. Back off kitty. Let the bull snort a bit. What a hoot.

23. Wonderful points
Wishy washy Leo = Venus, yes, Troublesomeness from Venus, no. It's coming from elsewhere in your chart.
Taurus son, stubborn, yes, not because of Venus (which appeases and yields) but mainly from FIXED EARTH nature.

I experience much difficulty with Taurus in my practice with Taurus. It's because they don't like anything growing on them quickly. So, they'd rather have an instant NO reaction and then think about it. The stubborness is the Fixed Earth usually or the Saturn placement.

I'd have to see your whole chart, if you care to, to see why "Venus", the mildest planet in yon zodiac gives you "trouble". Send birth info if you like.
Also, it could be an aspect TO Venus such as a hard aspect to Saturn or Pluto.

26. I have thought about
ordering a reading from your site. Very tempting. The most I've ever gotten have been the computer read outs. I have a computer and I can read. Is your's different?

I have a problem with Venus because I have a problem with love. I have too much. And never in the right place.

It seems astro.com has taken off the chart option. I have an irrestibable attraction to Aquarians.
Even my cat is Aquarian. He and I curl up real good, but once we are awake it is duel time.
I find that over and over in real life. Aquarians think they are God's gift. And I have the nuts to stand up and say, oh no buddy. Sometimes I have to run them off. Sometimes they run off on their own. Could this be a Uranus aspect on my chart? I just don't know how I got to be the Aquarian magent. They are EVEYRWHERE.

I prefer Airies. We just flame together, and laugh. My dad was an Airies. But I'm telling you, these Aquarians are driving me nuts. It's like Air to Fire. See?

I would be willing to pay your fees if I thought it would help get by.

Otherwise. wtf?

I might order a reading. But what can you tell me? That I burn up around Aquarians? Known fact.
That Airies give me free breath? Known fact. Geminis are a little cagey, but worth catching. Known fact. Cancers are downers. Known fact. Caps .. ummm not known. I broke a heart and have not seen him since. I thought he could stand his ground.. but no show. Scoprios. not my type but excitcing and enjoy my sense of humor. Pisces, I have no clue. Libras, I want to avoid. Virgos, work on my car, attention to detail. Sags are supposed to be a match for me, but I find them very boring. Oh. Then the Taureans. They whisper in your ear. But when you show them how you can roar, they run and hide. What kind of bull is that? My son's "due date" would have made him a gemini. But he showed up a week early. So he is a bull. I'm glad. Goddess knows the world doesn't need another gemini. I can stand up to a bull. The twins make me weak.

28. Uranian Aquarians
Vote:

Your Uranus is rather weak. Rather than think of what Sun-sign you need, you need to see that most of us have about 5 signs very strong in each of us. You need a person with the following energies and in this order:
1. Cancer
2. Leo (but with LOTS of sensitivity)
3. Pisces
4. Capricorn

You are no Leo, you are a Crab my dear.

30. Oh no ... I wish you hadn't said that.
Cancers are the most troublesome people I meet. Some of them have good humor, but for the most part they just dig in. I have messed around with my birth time some and found that due to the discrepancy of daylight savings, my rising might be Cancer, rather than Leo. I believe the Cancer rising seems to fit me more. Perhaps it wasn't 5:45 am. If it was 5:55 am, then my ascendent is Cancer. The guy I just had so much trouble with is Cancer ascendent.

My son's dad is Leo sun. We still love each other, but just not enough to be married.
I actually lived with him in a roommate situation 20 something years after we've been divorced.
He went to the grocery and bought the bread I like. I went to the grocery and bought the bread he liked. Like the magi story. Neither of us knew that we were doing that. But every once in awhile he would want to get in a shouting match. So I shouted with him for a few minutes. Nothing got resolved, but I guess it let off his steam. I'm sorry I can't be his mate because we really do cohabitate well. But he has other issues I'm not willing to deal with. But when I get lonely, I can call him. He is always willing to talk. His nic for me has always been "Sniffles", some little cartoon mouse, that makes him laugh. He always spots "free spirit". He knows I'm a maverick.

I fell for a Cancer in Toledo! He is so funny. But I'm in Texas, sunshine girl. He is not about to pull up roots from Toledo. Even though we talked about ways he could do that. He just won't. He's a crab. I AM NOT A CRAB. I'm a tumbleweed. If I found a crab in the hood, I might just want to go hang out. But not Toledo!

I don't understand Pisceans at all. One of my best friends was on the cusp of Pisces and Aires. I analyzed him. I thought he was much more Piscean. We worked together at two different places over a span of about six years. He was so inspiring. So adaptable. He got caught in one of the lay-offs, but the owner of the company intervened and brought him back. He worked in quality control and training. He just had an excellent personality. I knew him privately, so saw another side. The lazy, watch baseball side. But, I so admired him at work. And he was always open to self improvement. Amazing guy.

Capricorns are another mystery to me. I know my friend is steady as a rock. She seems to never falter, but she is as sensitive as I am. She is so funny! And sometimes we cry together. No one ever remembers her birthday because it is 12/26. I remember it.

What do you mean I'm not a Leo? I sure the hell am! My rising might be crab, but I am sure enough Leo. I can't believe I'm arguing with you. I really like you. Your writing is hysterical. Love your sense of humor. But dammit. I'm a Leo.

Thanks for the thought provoking.

34. Cancer vs Leo
Of course you're a Leo, but you have so much energy in Cancer...
We all over-identify too much with our sun sign, having 4 or 5 planets in Cancer along with a possible Cancer ascendant makes you big-time Cancer.
Glad you like my sense of humor - I appear to enjoy making a fool of myself.

35. You do?
I'm the class clown. Someone's gotta do it.

I don't know where you are reading the Cancer energy since you haven't even seen my chart.
I am really resisting this idea.

Okay. I dug out the chart my friend did for me. He uses Isabelle Hickey’s book “Karmic Astrology"

Cancer on 12th house. ugh
Mercury in Cancer 12th house. quote: "Emotional & receptive mind. Very psychic." . sigh

Here's the Venus pinch .. Venus in Virgo, 2nd house.
and it goes on.
Jupiter in Cancer 12th house
Uranus is in 12th house . dayum

Moon square Jupiter.
Venus sqaure Mars.
Mercury conjunct Uranus.
Mercury square Neptune.

The whole thing means I'm pretty much a mess. But adorable. That's Gemini 11th house.

Saturn in Scorpio 4th house is a doozy.

Leo is on my first house. Virgo in 2nd and 3rd. How is that possible?
Aquarius, 7th house. Yah. I want to be free. I think everyone should be free.

There is some good news.

I ao appreciate him for taking the time to do this for me. He already knew me, so I don't think there were any surprises.

It is nice to have a pro onboard here again. The last one we had left for other horizons.

29. Libra moon
The Moon in Libra can be wonderful if in a chart of an Overbearing Aries or Leo.
It can smooth out a Scorpio but one must watch for the tendency to be a "smooth talker".

Softer signs like Pisces and Cancer don't need it - it weakens them.
