Anyone know any good anti-gossip spells?

I've Googled and not found any. A spell to protect one from gossip already unleashed would also be useful, but what I'd really like to do is cut it off at the pass, if possible.

2. spell i found for slander

be careful with juice from plant... that juice is toxic...wash your hands and do not touch any mucous membranes. it does make sense though to use it as it numbs the lips and mouth if you happen to touch that plant.

Anti-Slander Spell
Protection from Torment and Slander
Time: Waning moon or Dark of the Moon.

You will need:

A dark altar or an image of Hecate
Two Candles - One black, One blue or white
An instrument to inscribe the candle
Juice from the Dieffenbachia Plant
Spider Webs
Pen and Paper
Purifying or Calming Incense
Use a dark altar, or an image of Hecate, Avenging Goddess, on your altar. Place two candles on either side of the image. You will need a black candle, juice from a dieffenbachia plant (which numbs and paralyzes the tongue if you get it in your mouth, so don't; you won't need much of it), and spider webs. Inscribe the black candle with your enemy's name. Make your circle. Say the following invocation:

Lady of Darkness,
Dark Isis of spells
Hecate, avenging Mother
Hear us and help us.

Roll the black candle in the juice of the diffenbachia to stop the enemy from speaking evil about you or your loved ones. Say:

Let the tongue of (name) be numb
and powerless to speak the evil,
To speak the untrue.
Let his/her voice fail and throat close
On the harmful words,
By the power of the Dark Lady.

Then roll the candle in spider webs. Say:

May (name) be caught and bound by the webs of his/her own deceit.

Then write the person's name on a piece of paper.
Light the candle and say:

Here is (name), alone and helpless.
(Name), you are friendless.
Emptiness and failure close around you.
Your plans are as nothing.
Frustration is yours.
Trouble, doubt and fear are at your side.
Soon you will cease tormenting me (or name of person you're
protecting).

Burn the paper in the flame of the black candle. Take it and the remnants of the candle after dark and sprinkle it before the residence of your enemy, or where the enemy is certain to walk. Light a blue or white candle and burn calming or purifying incense for peace.

Cat Yronwode (owner of lucky mojo) has some folksy spells for stopping gossips, along with some mojo products. Might not be 'high magic', but it's all in the intent.

there's a search feature for the site at the bottom of the page. you can also call her shop and she'll help you with what you need and how to use it. she's very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful.

7. Confrontation works well for me. I don't know who the gossip

is about BlueIris, but direct words with the gossiper can work wonders. I have no patience with this stuff. Weapons of words whispered behind someone's back belong to cowards & they need to be called out on it.

9. Not really an option. The gossiper is violent, alcoholic, and

not reachable with "reason." I will pursue it with that person if I absolutely have to, but will probably do it through a third party.

11. oh, definitely use the beef tounge then

with lots of peppers in it. i've been told this works amazingly well - the slanderous person just chokes up and isn't able to speak when the try to talk dirt on their intended victim.

you might want to check this out too - the magical use of psalms. the words are surprisingly effective in combination with some symbolic magical act.

Edit: Have you considered a mild banish/binding? I know that's a grey area; but in dire circumstances a knot spell probably couldn't hurt.

13. On the banish/binding issue...

I'm really, really trying to stay away from controversial stuff at the moment, because I am an amateur and because I'm trying to disperse with my anger in healthy ways, and avoid any attempts to control others. Also, I'm still very much an amateur WRT this spell casting stuff. But I'm considering asking the Universe, without doing a formal spell of any variety, to turn the gossiper's mind elsewhere or something. Someplace that is not on me or my business.
