What music heals your soul?
Edited on Sat Jul-08-06 05:36 PM by I Have A Dream
If I had to pick one album, it would be Yanni's "In My Time". The angels had to have been involved in the making of this album! :)

1. Magic as sung by Olivia Newton John
Come take my hand
You should know me
I've always been in your mind
You know that I'll be kind
I'll be guiding you

Building your dream
Has to start now
There's no other road to take
You won't make a mistake
I'll be guiding you

You have to believe we are magic
Nothin' can stand in our way
You have to believe we are magic
Don't let your aim ever stray
And if all your hopes survive
Your destiny will arrive
I'll bring all your dreams alive
For you

From where I stand
You are home free
The planets align so rare
There's promise in the air
And I'm guiding you

Through every turn I'll be near you
I'll come anytime you call
I'll catch you when you fall
I'll be guiding you

You have to believe we are magic
Nothin' can stand in our way
You have to believe we are magic
Don't let your aim ever stray
And if all your hopes survive
Your destiny will arrive
I'll bring all your dreams alive
For you

And Juke by Little Walter. Also some Mozart and Chopin especially as played by Dinu Lipatti or Mieczeslaw Horszowski.

6. A lot of Joni Mitchell's work
Edited on Sat Jul-08-06 11:39 PM by u4ic
Cavatina - Stanley Myers (I haven't seen the Deer Hunter)
Adagio in G Minor - Albinoni
Carol of the Bells - a particular version from a Christmas album from my childhood
Turn Turn Turn by the Byrds
I Got a Name by Jim Croce

I'm sure there are more, but they are the first that springs to my mind

A very interesting question, Dream!

9. I really love Albinoni's music.

My favorite (at least of what I've heard) is the following:

I've heard other performances of this same material, and I didn't like them nearly as much as this particular performance. I think that it's breathtakingly beautiful!

8. Shining Star
Earth, Wind, and Fire

Maurice white, philip baily & larry dunn

Yeah, hey
When you wish upon a star
Dreams will take you very far, yeah
When you wish upon a dream
Life ain't always what it seems, oh yeah
Once you see your light so clear
In the sky so very dear

You're a shining star, no matter who you are
Shining bright to see what you can truly be
That you can truly be

Shining star come into view
Shine is watchful light on you, yeah
Gives you strength to carry on
Make your body big and strong
Future roads for you to pass
Love to watch your mug past

The shining star, lucky you
The sinful redeeming shall be true
On an adventure of the sun, yeah
Yeah its all awake and just begun
Yeah, thought I had to stir the mood
Thats it now I got my own oh yeah

So if you find yourself in need
Why didn't you listen to his words of heat
Be a child free of sin
Be some place, yes I can
Words of wisdom: yes I can

You're a shining star, no matter who you are
Shining bright to see what you can truly be
You're a shining star, no matter who you are
Shining bright to see what you can truly be

Shining star for you to see, what your life can truly be
Shining star for you to see, what your life can truly be
Shining star for you to see, what your life can truly be

14. Mozart, and strangely "The Requiem."
There's something mystical about Mozart's phrasing and movements. Even the Requiem Mass(the unfininshed version)somehow evokes a sense of hope in the face of death.

Mozart, Beethoven, and company of that era, also I really like Wagner.
