Could use some advice
I've just started a juice cleanse that now will be somewhat modified due to unexpected travel plans. I can do 3 days now instead of the 7 that I planned
because we're going to OWS. I'll try to juice on WS, and know there are plenty of juice bars in NY. So coming out of it shouldn't be a problem, otherwise
if we can't find juice easily, we'll look for light vegetarian food.

Where I need the advice is here, ( I've never stayed on the streets overnight before, and hopefully never will have to in my life. We just feel we need to do
something right now when the energy is needed most) 1- what to bring/ wear/ pack in a small backpack. Looks like temps will be 45 F at night, forecast for sunny
days, Wed, Thurs, while I'll be there. And 2.- Bathroom availability - I've never juiced before! Not sure what to expect, especially during re-entry if you get my drift.

Don't really want to postpone this cleanse as I've planned it for a while, bought a vitamix- have crazy amount of produce on hand.... Also I'm headed to a major yoga retreat
center in Western Mass on Friday for 10 days of training to advance my teacher practice.

Seriously, I think I'm crazy- Mon and Tue working 10 hour shifts in the OR with night call Tuesday (so I cannot come home- and hour away from the hospital- too far on call)
We leave Wed morn, which means I have to pack TODAY for my call on Tues night (the pink bag) Kripalu (the red bag) and NY the back pack.

We just made the decision to go last night before the surprise party I threw for my partner out at the yurt for 10 cool peeps. My Shaman friend did a ceremony for protection
over all of us on WS. We had a raw food gourmet dinner geared to ease us into the juicing. (Raw choc cake too). My head is spinning because I just came off call Friday night,
and not thinking clearly. Any suggestions for me?

Think of us and send us your good stuff friends.

Maybe tomorrow I'll add some pulp. I've got my camera ready, and will send a report back

4. Thank you for your energy!
I would take a small brilliant flashlight, tissues, your yoga mat which can be attached to your backpack, layer your clothes, sleeveless tshirt, shirt, sweater/jacket; leggings for sure; some sort of raingear (the kind that folds up into a little pack), something to anchor you to reality/home like a picture or tiny altar piece (I used to carry a pic of my dog and beloved and a 1" tall Tara.) Don't forget earplugs and if you have one, a bullhorn! You will love it on the march. Wear dark clothes because you'll be dirty from the street and be comfortable and wear old comfortable broken in shoes.

My heart is with you. I'm working for a Democrat to win the House seat in my district to help our President with our agenda.

Oh, don't build karma. Om Mani Padmi Hum.

5. Thank You. Satnam
I've picked out some good layering, dark clothing, the hiking boots aren't the most comfy, so I may switch them out for keen shoes. The yoga mat is a stellar idea. Never even thought about earplugs.I have a small tambourine, and you reminded me of that with the bullhorn. Have x-tra batteries for the camera. Visualized calm, peace in our ceremony with my friend. I'll take the small Ganesha light statue with me.

I've signed up on monthly withdrawals/ donation to Elizabeth Warren's campaign (Never done anything like that before) that continue until November 2012. Thank you for all you are
doing for a better, more just world.

Peace In, Peace ON

8. A magic marker.
You may need to write a lawyer's number on your arm. Must be permanent. All things will be taken from you.

Ditch the hiking boots. Only the most comfortable, supportive shoes. You will become exhausted if your feet hurt. Congrats with Elizabeth Warren. She is a treasure.

9. Yes, I agree about the earplugs.
The sonic devices that are available for the police to use today can cause permanent hearing loss. (The Pittsburgh police have been using these devices, and the department is being sued because of harm that has occurred because of them.)

Stay safe, and thank you for doing this!

10. Be sure to take a
facial mask or bandana. The antidote for tear gas is liquid antacid squirted on the face and then rinsed with water.

11. The earplugs were a wicked smart idea ! ! !
Were any of you aware the New York City never gets dark AND never gets quiet???

I'm staring outside of an artists studio make/shift apartment that a P-town artist aquaintance hooked us up with-
so we didn't end up camping in Zoccotti Park, (phew) I'd have done it, but......

The view is that of the Brooklyn Bridge like In my face and the bridge infront of it runs the metro over it....
like every two minutes..... Seriously I'm not complaining, The bar down the street is playing hard rock tonight until........
(last night was a nice acoustic folk band- They hailed us in when they saw us walking back from the march giving us
a mighty hearty cheer, offered to buy us drinks- the darn cleanse.

We tolerated 2 days of juice, 1 day of smoothie and succommed to a lamb kabbob last night. I'm only too painfully
aware of my humaness.

John will stay on here until Sunday morning. I'm off to yoga bliss in the morning. What an humbling experience,
yet full of joy and finally perhaps some real hope.

Namaste

13. I love that about New York City.
When they say it is the city that never sleeps, they mean it.

It looks like you did well there, and had a good time. Good for you!
