About that Bible thing ...
http://www.redicecreations.com/radio/2011/03/RIR-110318.php

You know how no one can really ever figure out exactly what the deal was with the Bible stories? And how no archeological evidence can
be found to support them? We are supposed to 'believe' that these people who lived less than 10,000 years ago made no mark on history
whatsoever, other than in prayer books? How odd.

THIS makes sense:

Ralph Ellis - The Biblical Shepherd Kings & The Egyptian Hyksos Pharaohs
March 18, 2010
Historical cover-ups have always been a topic of interest. We re-visit the work of Ralph Ellis, who joins us to discuss his series of six books on the topic of "Biblical Patriarchs as Royal Pharaohs of Egypt". Ralph has been researching biblical and Egyptian history for more than 30 years. Being independent from theological and educational establishments has allowed him to tread where others do not dare, and it is through this independence that Ralph has discovered so many new biblical and historical clues about what might be the truth. Perhaps one of the biggest 'cover-ups' is the fact that the Israelites were originally Egyptians, the Hyksos shepherd pharaohs who were ejected from Egypt in the 17th century BC. But this simple correlation colors the rest of biblical history, for it means that both King Solomon and Jesus were also of Egyptian heritage. We begin to look at many of the missing historical characters and re examine the timeline, the placing and in some cases the naming of certain biblical and Egyptian historical events. Topics Discussed: missing historical characters, Adam and Eve, sheperd kings, Old Testament, reassessment of biblical history, victimhood, Babylon exile, Egypt, the historical propaganda story, Judaism "light", persecution of the Christians, church of Jesus, Judaism, Eden in Egypt, the Nile, Amarna, El, Elohim, Yahweh, Akhenaton and Nefertiti, the Genesis story, two main exoduses, revolutionaries, horrible living conditions in Amarna, pyramids, astrology, precession, messiah, Thoth, chronologies of the pharaohs, Saul, St Paul, Josephus and more.

1. IMHO the Bible stories are simply oral tradition that was eventually written down
in the last 5000 years (the length of time Man has been capable of writing). If you study different creation stories, they seem to have similar elements--2 people created, placed in paradise, something happened, they're ejected from paradise.

I noted before that as scientists delve further into our genetic DNA, they're finding more & more that these "myths" have a kernel of truth in them. For example, there was an Eve, and an Adam, and all humans alive today are descended from them. HOWEVER, they lived in different times AND were not the only people alive at the time. It is only their DNA has been passed down from generation to generation. (this explains where Mrs. Cain came from). In looking at Earth's geological history, it appears that Africa at some point in the past, was like a paradise, but cataclysmic ecological disasters changed all that, and mankind had to leave in order to survive. In fact, it appears that there were at least two major migrations out of Africa, the earliest heading to India, SE Asia, & Australia, the latest to Central Asia & on into Europe.

Of course, the people living in those times couldn't explain why they were "thrown out of paradise;" all they knew was that something beyond their control happened, & they had to leave.

And then, of course, we have all the Flood/Noah stories, found in the Bible, but also in Mesopotamian & Greek culture. That, to me, indicates there was another cataclysmic event that mankind experienced, at least in the Mediterranean region.

I can't prove this, but I've often wondered if the "slaves" who came out of Egypt were really the followers of Akenaten, the Egyptian pharoah who introduced monotheism to Egypt. His followers disappeared rapidly after his death & I've always wondered where they went....

3. So, what if being kicked out of the Garden
was really about having to leave their home planet of Mars?

9. I have Tempest & Exodus.
This thread has reminded me I need to get back to it. I took a break from it when I had some interlibrary loan books come in that positively had to be read by certain dates. So many books, so little time.

5. Ever heard of a film called The God Who Wasn't There?
The film's premise is that the historical evidence for Christ is non-existent.

7. I haven't.
And Ralph Ellis moves the 'official' time frame. He says Jesus was Josephus. And he convinced me.

I don't know about anyone else, but my personality compels me to read source materials for as many as there are. Everything!
Even if I don't understand it, I am interested in what other seekers and non-seekers are thinking/believing/behaving.
So, I've read MANY theories. None of them were nearly as convincing as is this material. I've read some of Josephus's writings.
