omg, my raven with the broken wing is back.....
Bless his/her heart!!!!

I haven't seen him since the tornadoes blew through on April 16th.

Unbelievable. He's back and looks just fine.

What an amazing spirit and testament to perseverance, in spite of the odds and appearances. I was told he wouldn't last one day. He had been here (mainly hanging out in my backyard), off and on, for about one month prior to April 16th.

2. I love crows and ravens.
My Dad had one as a kid. When you say he/she is ok, do you mean still ok with a still-broken wing?

4. Yes!
Bless his heart, his wing is still obviously broken, but he has adapted. He can't fly; that's why I was told he wouldn't last a day.

He hops onto low branches and keeps hopping upward when he feels he's threatened. When he was here frequently, before the tornado, I observed the other ravens watching out for him. It was very, very cool.

At this point, since he has survived (and thrived), I fear trying to capture him to take him two hours away for rehab may cause more harm than good. I have no idea of the age; he is an adult, but how old I obviously don't know.

9. My uncle used to have a pet crow
That was his buddy. Always stayed close by on the porch railing every time we went outside. He would take sunflower seeds and peanuts right from your hand, but his very favorite thing was Ruffles potato chips. And when my uncle would laugh, that bird would laugh with him. It was the cutest thing you ever saw.

Good on him! :toast:

And hee this very minute I was pulling the garbage cans around the side of the house, and I found a crow or raven (I've seen both around) feather sticking out of a crack in the foundation around our basement Bilco doors. I brought it inside so it can join my "feather gifts" collection. (Ah, air magic!)

Also fun--the antenna on my car retracts when I turn the radio off, and when I parked to get coffee beans earlier today, it retracted and snagged a tiny white feather, so it was sticking out of the little knob, waving in the breeze! :D
