I walked out on my dental hygenist today
She told me she was a repuke and didn't want to help people who "wouldn't" help themselves. I looked her in the eye, said FUCK YOU, ripped the little bib thing off, shoved her tray away and got up and walked out. She was stunned and kept saying, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you. Stupid fuck. I am so sick of these "people" that I could scream. Then I had an incident at Walmart. I was returning a printer that was crap (HP 4500) and was 2 days past their 15 day return plan (which is shown in teeny tiny letters under the BIG 90 DAY RETURN sign) I read her the riot act and was getting ready to leave with the printer when a woman in the aisle over said..."Don't leave, call the manager, call the home office, but don't take this shit." Of course, I asked for the manager, he was called, approved the return and I looked the woman who refused the return directly in the eyes and told her "Shame on you for not suggesting this yourself." All the people in the line cheered and I left.

I came home shaking from the energy. I'm better now. I've decided that I'm turning a repuke into the IRS because I know he's cheating on his taxes. I'm getting his full name today. I've decided to join the war on repuking pigs.

1. I know the feeling hun
i am glad you are just standing your ground. I know that sometimes it takes us to get angry before we move to that place of action. Hope that in the days to follow you can make the same committment to fight without letting them get your goat.
I feel the dread and anger everytime I have to deal with the county and HUD housing....

2. Go, you....
I SO hear you, WhiteTara.

Enough is enough. I'm calling bullshit out when I encounter it (but it is a challenge to not get sucked and consumed by anger; today, I'm kinda failing at that :eyes:).

:applause:

6. I am really having to work on my anger over the last few days
I almost lost my employee because I screamed at him when he ran over my booth display! It was awful all around. But, he's coming back tomorrow and we'll give each other gifts and move on. I'll keep working on being human.

3. Peace be with you WhiteTara
This atmosphere of dire polarity is really toxic. Take a shower, get it off of you. Peace.

I got it good myself today from someone, AND I have a crummy HP4500

4. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm off to dig in the dirt first
and then a good soaky bath.

Sorry you were a recipient of someone's angst...I hope you were able to see what was and wasn't yours.

I'm really sorry you kept the HP...I got a Dell, even though I can't stand the guy. I needed a document feeder for faxing and copying. The HP was a toy.

5. Way to go WhiteTara!
Rick is right. The polarity is insane now. Remember to try to observe and not absorb and stay clear of the DRAMA...you'll get sucked in big time. We're much more effective if we can "detach". That's so awesome you stood your ground though! I love that you told the woman shame on her for not suggesting that herself..lol. Sheeple robots...sheeeesh.

But, I was thinking of those people when she gave me that repuke crap and I knew I would never give her another nickel.

13. He is so blatant. He won't give his employees 40 hours
because he might have to give them benefits (although under 50 employees all benefits are voluntary.) He drives a new car and new truck each year, in addition to his mint Solara convertible. He owns a giant self storage business with his name on it. He began collecting ss benefits at age 62 and has no money deducted (he told me.) We had a conversation about health care and he says we can't afford it, but he has some (again, he told me) very good insurance. So, I feel strongly about these things. But, I'll sleep on it some more. Thanks.

See how the dictators and even the republicans are having an increasingly hard time? This is the trend :)

Go get 'em! You are one of the leaders of the "I don't have to take this shit anymore" movement.

Thank you!!!

:yourock:

(on edit: we have taken their crap for so long, that when we finally regain our power, it's very easy to manifest it through anger and disgust -- natural response really. I'm not sure that it helps those like your hygienist to understand why their ideas and beliefs are so destructive. Of course, they may not care to understand, so it doesn't really matter. Anyway, my above comment still stands: You Rock!!)

15. This sounds kind of corny
but WhiteTara, I hope that a person who is too scared to speak up will hear your righteous anger, and find it within themselves to right a wrong in their life, too.

I also hope that the Republican dental hygienist learned something from today's encounter - in other words, the cliches they've been taught about "bootstraps" and "helping those who help themselves" no longer apply.

:woohoo:

17. I doubt she will; but, she knows that her attitude will cost her money.
I certainly didn't stop and ask for a bill on my way out. The only way to touch these is through the purse strings. She lost $100 and a client, and maybe there are too many for her to care, but I know she was stunned by my response.

18. She'll be just fine till she loses her $40 an hour job
I don't wish misfortune on anyone. Let's face it, I'm not a Wiccan, but I know a woman that is, and she told me a long time ago about the Law of Threes.

I hope that what you said made an indelible impression on the hygienist. After all, MOST of her patients don't make the money she does, and many are most likely struggling to get the money together to see a dentist at all.

The dentist was probably also curious to know what happened when a patient storms out of his or her office...

25. Do you live in a big city?
If so, I'll bet there are plenty of dentists with progressive political views. I found mine through a local RAIN event -- he had sponsored a door prize (tooth whitening), and I've been very happy with him and his staff. The office is professional yet friendly, and I just know I'm not going to have to listen to any republican (dentist, hygienist, patient or other) blathering on and spewing talking points. It's so nice. In fact, the last time I was there, my favorite hygienist and I talked about our cats. She's deaf and is teaching me sign language. It's very cool.

Uh oh -- I think I lost the point. Oh yeah, if your area is big enough, you shouldn't have much trouble finding a dentist and staff that is more in line with your political and social views. Or at the least, you can find ones who aren't vocal about their prejudices and do not bring them to the office.

I wish you well, WT.

29. I have an awesome dentist in Houston. She's brilliant.
She also doesn't think dentists should hand out mercury lollipops.

She took out all my fillings and replaced them with Cerex. She pulled my root canals and replaced them with a bridge.
She also cleaned out the root canal holes and wisdom teeth holes and disinfected them b/c they have anaerobic bacteria in them that sit there and munch for years and cause damage.

DH had two abscessed molars and she pulled them and he was a happy camper in about an hour.

One day her hygenist was in another room talking about fluoride. The patient was telling her the Nazis put it in the water to calm people down.

Dr. Jones heard the hygienist in the other cubicle and said, "Cindy, cut it out! Fluoride is not good for anyone!".

I've often tried to be "good" and accept other people's crap without speaking up and it has left me far more bitter and miserable than when I've spoken up.

22. I've found it's best to just avoid these sad, pathetic people like the plague.
Going to war with them burned. me. out. On the bright side, I burned out on things like hatred, resentment and rage in the process, but I flat out burned out on any serious activism, besides the economic kind (not buying certain brands, etc.)

If you really feel you must go this route, good luck. But at least pace yourself.

26. do it with love, because it infuriates them more. :)
for example, turn in the guy to the IRS, not because he's cheating on his taxes and you want him punished, but because you want to give him the gift of recognizing the joy that comes form sharing.

turn that frown upside down! do the right thing by shining your light, even when the only light they may see is the one from one's ass. remember, it's all our loving gift from a giving universe, regardless from whence it came. you're just giving back light and love in a manner they can understand.

31. I've got to admire that...
It's one thing to sound off here, and where I am, I take care of patients, who when revealing things like this, cause me to stay away from confrontation (it's my job, and frankly, I think I'd be fired, given the health care system I work for).

But, you have nailed what we should ALL learn to do.

Good for you.

and handle billing disputes and make service complaints. Then I clean.

There are so many repeating those horrible talking points around here as there is no progressive radio and it seems like everyone watches Fox.

They have turned the poor against each other.
