I've been looking at his chart tonight. The lunar eclipse happens at 8:12AM on Mon Oct 17th at 24'14 Aries/Libra (Moon/Sun). Bush's Midheaven - I use Koch houses, and an Aries MC in Koch seems much more like Bush than the Taurus MC I've seen using other house systems - is at 24'13" Aries (July 6 1946 7:26AM New Haven CT from Astrodatabank). From my understanding, the MC represents your public image, your standing in society, most commonly, your career. For a President, it's a no-brainer what that stands for. An Eclipse here, and so close, is HUGE.
Transiting Chiron at 27 Capricorn opposes Bush's Saturn at 26 Cancer in the 12th, which is square the Eclipse point, making a Grand Cross centered on the Eclipse conjunct his MC/IC. Saturn in the 12th (and I have this placement, in Capricorn, exactly opposite Bush's) gives a more Karmic feel to the traditional 12th house meaning of "self-undoing" - and if anything, it's pretty obvious that Bush's "self-undoing" has always been his refusal to accept responsibility, or to face accountability. His daddy, his daddy's friends, and his daddy's Supreme Court always having rescued him from this in the past. Transiting Chiron, I think, represents that this is his inner wound, his need to prove that he could make it on his own. Winning a 2nd term, and "finishing the job" in Iraq, where his daddy couldn't.
At the same time, transiting Saturn at 10 Leo will be conjunct Bush's Mercury/Pluto conjunction in his 1st house. Transiting Saturn, having crossed the Ascendant, is giving a big fat dose of reality - doesn't "Saturn conjunct natal Mercury/Pluto" just SCREAM "speaking truth to power?" But in this case, not so much in a "good" way, as far as the listener (Bush) is concerned.
Transiting Uranus at 7 Pisces is inconjunct the Mercury/Pluto conjunction (and transiting Saturn) and also exactly quincunx Bush's Ascendant in Leo. The Ascendant represents the "personal" image, and Bush has always struck me as a boy-king. One who feels that he deserves (and craves) attention. Uranus inconjunct this point strikes me as a bolt out of the blue that will focus alot of negative attention on his personal self-image. The Emperor will be revealed to have no clothes.
Transiting Pluto at 22 Sagittarius, opposes Bush's Uranus at 19 Gemini in the 11th, conjunct his South Node at 20 Sagittarius, opposite his North Node which is conjunct his natal Uranus. Another Karmic "bolt out of the blue" connection. You don't mess (you all know what I probably should have typed there instead of "mess") with Pluto. Pluto transits always represent power in some way, and opposite Uranus in the 11th of groups and associations, could illustrate the disintegration of the support of the Republican party, or his "base." Transiting Mars will be at 21 Taurus in Bush's 10th house, retrograde, inconjunct transiting Pluto and Bush's South node.
I'm just an amateur at astrology, and most of the insight I get is on an intuitive level. I had to run down that list above - and it was mostly stream-of-consciousness - just to see if it was as impressive in black and white as it was when I first realized the eclipse would hit his chart so closely. And I think it is. It has a very Karmic feel, with so many outer planet hits, and I've found from experience that Moon transits - let alone an Eclipse - can be a very effective timer for action, for having things in the chart manifest in reality.
Back in November I was positive that Bush's Saturn return during the election would be his downfall, but with everything that's happened since then, I realize that the Saturn return happening in the 12th was probably just the first rumblings beneath the surface. But when I see a rundown like this, with so many close hits, during an eclipse which is exactly conjunct his MC? I can't help but feel that something big - Plame indictments? Libra representing Justice? - is going to happen next Monday.
I've never done anything like this, astrologically - or at least, never posted it on the "Internets." Am I crazy? Or does anyone else see the same thing?
