1. The Star

You are The Star
Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Star is a card that looks to the future. It does not predict any immediate or powerful change, but it does predict hope and healing. This card suggests clarity of vision, spiritual insight. And, most importantly, that unexpected help will be coming, with water to quench your thirst, with a guiding light to the future. They might say you're a dreamer, but you're not the only one.

Lovely! Thanks for posting.

:hi:

2. The Moon
Edited on Sun Dec-05-10 07:59 PM by I Have A Dream

You are The Moon

Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.

The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.

Thank you, Sweet Freedom!

It's difficult to see myself as some of these things, but they certainly are things that I would like to cultivate in myself. (OK, not so much the madness... :D) I'd love to be creative.

3. Empress

You are The Empress
Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

(Couldn't copy the card, sorry)

You are The Fool

Idea, thought, spirituality, that which endeavors to rise above the material.

The Fool is the card of infinite possibilities. The bag on the staff indicates that he has all he need to do or be anything he wants, he has only to stop and unpack. He is on his way to a brand new beginning. But the card carries a little bark of warning as well. Stop daydreaming and fantasizing and watch your step, lest you fall and end up looking the fool.

9. The Hanged Man

You are the Hanged Man

Self-sacrifice, Sacrifice, Devotion, Bound.

With the Hanged man there is often a sense of fatalism, waiting for something to happen. Or a fear of
loss from a situation, rather than gain.

The Hanged Man is perhaps the most fascinating card in the deck. It reflects the story of Odin who offered himself as a sacrifice in order to gain knowledge. Hanging from the world tree, wounded by a spear, given no bread or mead, he hung for nine days. On the last day, he saw on the ground runes that had fallen from the tree, understood their meaning, and, coming down, scooped them up for his own. All knowledge is to be found in these runes.

The Hanged Man, in similar fashion, is a card about suspension, not life or death. It signifies selflessness, sacrifice and prophecy. You make yourself vulnerable and in doing so, gain illumination. You see the world differently, with almost mystical insights.

Of course, the moment I saw the choice of "Uma Thurman" under "Heavenly Bodies" I knew the person that wrote it was a fan of Stargate and Col. Jack O'Neill :D

11. You are The High Priestess
Science, Wisdom, Knowledge, Education.

I didn't expect it would produce an intelligible result, given that some of the questions I'd have liked to answer "none of the above" on and others I was indecisive about (saturn vs pluto as favorite planet... I was thinking saturn overall, but pluto (deep transformation) situationally... I opted for pluto).

12. Apparently, I'm The Sun
Happiness, Content, Joy.
The meanings for the Sun are fairly simple and consistent.
Young, healthy, new, fresh. The brain is working, things that were muddled come clear, everything falls into place, and everything seems to go your way.
The Sun is ruled by the Sun, of course. This is the light that comes after the long dark night, Apollo to the Moon's Diana. A positive card, it promises you your day in the sun. Glory, gain, triumph, pleasure, truth, success. As the moon symbolized inspiration from the unconscious, from dreams, this card symbolizes discoveries made fully consciousness and wide awake. You have an understanding and enjoyment of science and math, beautifully constructed music, carefully reasoned philosophy. It is a card of intellect, clarity of mind, and feelings of youthful energy.

16. The Tower
You are The Tower

Ambition, fighting, war, courage. Destruction, danger, fall, ruin.

The Tower represents war, destruction, but also spiritual renewal. Plans are disrupted. Your views and ideas will change as a result.

The Tower is a card about war, a war between the structures of lies and the lightning flash of truth. The Tower stands for "false concepts and institutions that we take for real." You have been shaken up; blinded by a shocking revelation. It sometimes takes that to see a truth that one refuses to see. Or to bring down beliefs that are so well constructed. What's most important to remember is that the tearing down of this structure, however painful, makes room for something new to be built.

Lightening flash of truth was when I found out how badly my half-sisters were stabbing me in the back. I had cared for our Mom since (step)Dad died in 2004, no help from any of 4 other sisters, only criticisms. After Mom died, July 2009, they were telling people that I had used my Mom and they had to protect her from me at the end. I was having to try to protect her from them harassing and bullying her about her will almost until the day she died. I had never even asked what her will involved, not my business.

They've told people that I am faking my disabilities; severe mixed bi-polar (finally diagnosed in 1999 and it only took 6.5 weeks to receive SSI), fibro, Type 2, mercury poisoning (from chronic low-level exposure) and an ankle with 2 non-joined necrotic broken bones, broken since 2001 and missed until 2006.

They've told people that because of me, they couldn't be millionaires from Mom's estate because I "took everything"; this coming from sisters with $300,000 houses and me with a $28,000 home. One sister bullied Mom to take me off as executor and finally managed it on June 11, 2009, cleaned out the safe where Mom had envelopes (before she died) with names on them and cash, totaling over $100,000 ("to keep V from stealing it", though I had the combo for many years and never even thought of opening it). They have never worked for anything in their lives, spoiled rotten by their father, given cars and houses.

Luckily, I have a very strong spirit, but a major toll has been taken on my health and emotions and am trying to rebuild my life. Mom was major part of my life and would call sometimes 6 to 10 times a day (after learning cancer was in brain understood that finally), now nothing and it's hard.

It was a nightmare from 2004 until 2009 and it's only gotten worse since Mom died. The last year and a half have been pure hell...

36. Thank you so much, IHAD. Been a rough few years, but I believe the end of
all the bs is almost near. My youngest sister has started coming around and admitting to being involved in spreading some terribly vicious rumors to discredit me. I forgave her long ago. She suffers from severe mental illness and was manipulated to almost kill my daughter and I last year under the guise of "protecting Mom". Frightening to be hated so much over money. I don't even care about money except for survival.

I know karma and wouldn't want to be one of those girls when it rebounds. Though they've made life hell, I will always love them. I am older by 10, 12 and 15 yrs. and changed all of their diapers.

I'm just starting to be able to come to grips with all of it. Writing this has been somewhat of a release and I do so appreciate your kindness and support.

I've never been good at 'fitting in' anywhere, I am starting to feel safe enough here to start to share.

I often wonder if she understood her weight gain, but as she is an avid fan of faux snooze, I doubt it.

72. Wow, did she really do that?
That's so sad, and yeah, really mean. I just don't understand how people can be like that.

I don't wish bad things to happen to anyone, but losing a little hair might be exactly what she needs to have happen to learn her lesson. (Once she learns it and starts to be nicer, it can grow back. :D)

74. I don't understand how people can be so vicious either. I was raised
to live by the Golden Rule, as were my sisters. They apparently interpreted it much differently than most: Do unto others first and smirk. I feel I lost most of my family when Mom died, faux news watching fans, and I wasn't too popular before that because of *.

Hope your day is blessed, IHAD!

17. We-hell, the website said I was "High Priestess" BUT
Edited on Mon Dec-06-10 10:40 AM by crikkett
when I first got my tarot card set, I sat in meditation with it to find out what card I was, and drew Queen of Swords, which I think fits better.

And by the way, what's with the false choices in some of those questions? For "Where do you want to live" there was no choice for "right here & now" so I had to settle for "the real world" which really isn't the same.

And another thing, looking into the site, that test only matches you with major & minor arcana. It only goes up to "the world" (#21)

28. That was fun. I'm The Hierophant.
I'm don't know much about Tarot cards and I've never heard on this one, but here's what it said.

You are The Hierophant

Divine Wisdom. Manifestation. Explanation. Teaching.

All things relating to education, patience, help from superiors. The Hierophant is often considered to be a Guardian Angel.

The Hierophant's purpose is to bring the spiritual down to Earth. Where the High Priestess between her two pillars deals with realms beyond this Earth, the Hierophant (or High Priest) deals with worldly problems. He is well suited to do this because he strives to create harmony and peace in the midst of a crisis. The Hierophant's only problem is that he can be stubborn and hidebound. At his best, he is wise and soothing, at his worst, he is an unbending traditionalist.

(I found it confusing that it seems to be a male card and I'm female. I had to go back and make sure I didn't check the wrong box!)

which I actually own.

I'm actually kind of surprised by that response. I spend a lot of time consciously avoiding getting into the locked in, intractable, no-good-way-out kinds of situations Tower people get involved in. I really look down on Tower folks generally, or at least those who don't ever seem to learn from the unsustainable Tower shit they weasel, manipulate and lie their way into.

39. I am The World
Gee, when will I have this big finish!
This is somewhat surprising, but I've had quite a few sources say that I am destined for big things, though I can't imagine that at all.
My hubby would DEFINITELY challenge the idea that "I've done everything right!" :spray: LOL
Guess The Universe will show the way. :)

""
You are the World
Completion, Good Reward.
The World is the final card of the Major Arcana, and as such represents saturnian energies, time, and completion.
The World card pictures a dancer in a Yoni (sometimes made of laurel leaves). The Yoni symbolizes the great Mother, the cervix through which everything is born, and also the doorway to the next life after death. It is indicative of a complete circle. Everything is finally coming together, successfully and at last. You will get that Ph.D. you've been working for years to complete, graduate at long last, marry after a long engagement, or finish that huge project. This card is not for little ends, but for big ones, important ones, ones that come with well earned cheers and acknowledgements. Your hard work, knowledge, wisdom, patience, etc, will absolutely pay-off; you've done everything right.

43. Wheel of Fortune
(hopefully without a 'bankrupt' placard!)

"Good fortune and happiness but sometimes a species of intoxication with success

The Wheel of Fortune is all about big things, luck, change, fortune. Almost always good fortune. You are lucky in all things that you do and happy with the things that come to you. Be careful that success does not go to your head however. Sometimes luck can change."

Fairly accurate assessment of me, so far ...

52. Wheel of Fortune too.

I was so angry on the political forums tonight.

I have two decks: an OTO Crowley and Lon Milo Duquette; both used once mundane in a layout and for the touch just so they belonged to me.

Also have hard cover numbered 13 of 2000 printed of the 2nd (1969 by OTO) edition of The Book of Thoth. The annotations by the original owner are priceless. I have spent time in the book with individual cards

In general, Tarot is not a tool in my life, I had my cards read once in 1968 by a 15 year old girl.

70. The Moon

73. Well, I got something different...

You are The Lovers

Motive, power, and action, arising from Inspiration and Impulse.

The Lovers represents intuition and inspiration. Very often a choice needs to be made.

Originally, this card was called just LOVE. And that's actually more apt than "Lovers." Love follows in this sequence of growth and maturity. And, coming after the Emperor, who is about control, it is a radical change in perspective. LOVE is a force that makes you choose and decide for reasons you often can't understand; it makes you surrender control to a higher power. And that is what this card is all about. Finding something or someone who is so much a part of yourself, so perfectly attuned to you and you to them, that you cannot, dare not resist. This card indicates that the you have or will come across a person, career, challenge or thing that you will fall in love with. You will know instinctively that you must have this, even if it means diverging from your chosen path. No matter the difficulties, without it you will never be complete.

============

Hmmmm... yeah, large parts of that resonate with me. Interesting... (BTW, I didn't particularly care for any of those decks, either.)
