BAD HABIT Breaking - What's the astrological angle?
I am sure this is poart of the Pluto/Capricorn stuff Rick has been talking about as of late.

This summer has been a weird thing, my bad habits are in full swing and my little angel/devil on my shoulders are very active!

Every morning i wake up and say, 'no mas' I will throw away the cigarettes and NOT buy beer or wine with dinner...
By the evening I am ready to get in my 'spot' sitting in front of the fireplace, smoking up the chimney, drinking and watching bad tv...

:wtf: I don't understand the flip-flop. man!
I have been smoking after the kids go to sleep for years, it's my release, i only smoke 3-4 cigs, but it interferes with my sleep and I know I am coughing more too...no denying age and the effects of a 'few' smokes over the years.
The drinking thing has only recently gotten worse. This summer I have just "had" to have a beer or a glass of wine with my smoke in the evening...but I can tell that is affecting all kinds of health things too...i have that damn gene from my father and I don;t want to be drinking a gallon of vodka a day in a few months! ewww!

Am I the only one dealing with bad habits right now? Does anyone else have something like this where you are seeing some old behavior come back and haunt you this summer...is it part of the clearing out phase?
Interested in your input and astrological observations...

1. WILL POWER, you have to insist and resist the temptation
Yes, it is hard as hell, but you have to be persistent. No, ifs, whens or buts. YOU have to take control of your conscience and I mean REALLY take control.

I have quit smoking like this every time I've picked up the habit. Which I've done off and on throughout my life. The worse part of it is the first 48 hours. Then is becomes a little easier. And yes, the voice is still there telling me how good it would be to have a cig, but I deny that voice my attention for very long, with the voice of reason. "No, you don't need to start that habit again!"
Same applies to your drinking. As a teenager I used to get "drunk" on drinking a lot of water. Maybe you could do something similar. I struggle with drinking water, as I am a tea-a-holic, and I just never liked drinking water, but through my lessons, this is a requirement, so I have been trying harder.

Ask your Higher Self to help guide you through this process. Meditate on it, when you ask your HS or Master Within to bathe you in the White Light and help you combat this struggle. It will help to have their help.

I don't think astrology has anything to do with this. This comes from within.

My two cents worth of wisdom

2. thanks for the tough love
ya, the first 48 are harder, but once I have been free for a week i fall off the wagon again. I think it has something to do with mny body and spirit moving at different rates, so I use something to put me back into BODY because the rollercoaster of spirit going so fast is hard to take sometimes..
And yes, the will power part is very big - I know i just need to get a grip and find my 'switch' then replace the choices woith healthier ones...like chewing on cinnamon sitcks or drinking tea, etc...

I choose to replace my unhealthy habits with 'addiction' to healthy habits...

5. YOU CAN DO IT, and I believe in YOU
Again, DO NOT give in to the voices in your head. Your conscience is a tricky little thing. The voice of reason and Love of thyself, and the voice of destructive behavior that wants to control you.

With me after the first 48 hours, I think it gets easier. However, having just quit again in May hopefully for the final time, I'm still struggling with it, but the voice is getting more distant. I push it out of my head and replace it with, "No, you don't NEED IT!" "You don't NEED the cig, it will only make matters worse for your health!"

Now, I'm struggling with excess weight from not exercising and indulging in too many sweet desserts I make for my Rosicrucian events. I can't help it. I "loveya: making desserts that I know others will enjoy, and sharing them with others keeps me from having a whole batch of cookies, cakes, etc sitting around the house.

YOU are stronger than that little voice. Resist, Resist, RESIST IT. YOU CAN DO IT, and I believe in YOU insert Stewart Smalley's voice here

Good Luck my Friend

You are right, the power comes from within. Good luck to her.

6. It's all about your Moon
what does that mean: As I see it so often and this is easy to say, you're trying to fill emotional holes.

The cig won't do it or the drink. I quit smoking for 10 years now, not one puff. Zyban/Wellbutrin was my secret. It's the dopamine, not the nicotine, the dopamine in the brain.

Muffin is right, you have to find inner love. You can't fill the hole from outside. PL is all over you and will be for the next few years. That means you are ready to do this. It's that simple. Don't see it as a threat; see it as if you are ready.

Your power has arrived.

That's why i have the whole bad vs good thing, libra loves to hold those scales...but I am certainly NOT in balance!

I have been cleaning up the garage, and kitchen areas for back to school orderliness...and found all my saved magazines with vegie recipies.

*just* now as I was moving the mags to another spot they pile shifted and what fell out...?
a WHOLE issue on CLEANSING! how to detox in a weekend! AND my own report from nutrition class about stress and nutrition...

shit, i guess my spirit is way more powerful and ready than my little ego thinks, eh?

8. It has NOTHING to do with Libra
when your Moon is so close to the ascendant and you have major placements (Sun/Venus) around the NADIR, it's all about your CANCER or LUNAR energy. Period.

Read about Cancer
Cancer
Cancer

That's you.

It'll explain everything. It is not rational. It's all EMOTIONAL.

The CLEANSING of house/garage is SYMBOLIC of PLUTO clearing out junk from your emotional "baggage"
That's a VERY GOOD sign.

You go girl... You'll feel much lighter. Don't THINK about it, just do it. :hi:

10. No no
You want to read about what makes Cancer tick. You need to read my new book, ooops, it's not done yet! Read about what makes them the way they are. That is the secret for you to understand for succees during your long Pluto transit. Your natal chart is as much of a Cancer as it is Capricornian. That's the danger of identifying too closely with one's Sun sign.

Never read the horoscopes unless you are real pleased with the long history of the particular astrologer. Most of them are not worth the cost of the bits and bytes that they are written on.

What I am saying to you is that yes, you are a Capricorn, but the issues you bring up about no control and willpower etc. are -Cancerian. Caps have great self-control and willpower. Not Cancers. Cancers do most things in order to bring about an instant feeling of "feeling OK." Instant gratification = feeling all right. Therein lies the rub.

11. heavy, man
wanna hear something funny...? my dad is a cancer, so is my older sister, and we are not close at all... I know what makes them tick alright, we show eachother that which we don't like in ourselves, quite the mirror is the opposite sign ...And my dad and sister are both very good at maintaining status quo and making the right decisions. They own homes, i don't. They are well invested and plan, I can't ...I live on the edge most of the time. such a paradox indeed.

dammitt... okay, back to the drawing board  thanks Rick! :loveya:
