1. I saw that ...
... and thought "here we go again ...."

It's the same way over at AskMetafilter - someone posted about how to get their healing practice up online and oh my God. The shit that wasn't dumped all over her for her beliefs. (Not me. I wouldn't even dream of that because of my experience here.) I had been emailing with her back and forth anyway over another issue and sympathized.

What is it that makes people feel they have to just shit all over someone else's beliefs? I don't go roaming around in evangelical boards/threads and tell them it's all crap just because it doesn't resonate with me. Why do others do it? GRRR.

(hot button, as you can see.)

I never even click on anything I could be attacked over. It just isn't worth it to me.

4. Egad, one hell of a subject to tackle
Too much for me, I'm afraid. :scared:

The detractors do NOT want to hear any explanations of what homeopathy really is--it would just complicate their viewpoint ("magic water").

5. It's really not that bad, as those kind of threads go.
It's also been moved to the Health forum, so even more opportunity for those that make it their living to be AOL (asses online) to continue their modi operandi ;)

But there are a handful of DU-detractors that are being quite restrictive of themselves and offering usable help to derby :)
