Crabby! Crabby crabby crabby crabby crabby
Anyone notice this? For the past few days, everyone I've encountered has been one of two extremes--either really nice or really CRABBY!
:wtf:

Naturally I welcome the really nice people, but I've been truly shocked at the crabby-pants levels of...well...crabbiness! Part of the process?

1. Maybe the oil leak is driving all the crabs onshore,
thus the increase in crabiness :P

:spank:

Although...I did also wonder if the imbalance caused by events in the Gulf is affecting everyone's psyche.

13. Maybe all that the crabby need is some grass

We just need to keep the "quacks" and their grass away from the Gulf

15. Ya know.....
that might be a good idea!!; but since I quit smoking, how about some brownies? (with my greens for the day included!!!) Saw that once on "Desperate Housewives", when Lynette had cancer and her Mom (Polly Bergan)made some for her! I was in such a joyous mood yesterday because I was with my little guy while his Mommy went to her Dr. On the way home my oil light came on just before I pulled into my driveway. Think maybe that fear played on my subconscious all night? I have no money until tomorrow's SS deposit.

22. I don't smoke at all and have never had "brownies".
I wonder if pot buds can be juiced, like wheat grass?

Do you happen to know anyone that's a mechanic or so inclined, like a hobbyist? The oil light could be something simple, like low oil, so get it checked before you drive it again. It's not worth ignoring something like that.

Hope things work out for ya

4. Not crabby, but very weepy
I so hoped June would bring some fresh perspective, and perhaps a breakthrough or 2, but so far I'm just filled with sorrow. I know it's only 1 day into it, but still...May sucked so mightily, that I just thought we'd open up June with some happiness and joy.

6. Me too
I've been going back and forth with the weepy thing--completely weirding me out. My May sucked, but nothing that I couldn't survive. However, I do keep looking on AstrologyZone for the June forecast--IT'S LATE! WAAAHHH!--because I want even more reassurance, on top of Rick's threads, that June will be better.

10. AstrologyZone is ALWAYS late :(
... seems like she never has it posted before the 3rd or 4th of the month.
And she's been consistently the most accurate, so I really need my fix!

I usually check AstrologyZone, but this month's sounds like maybe I should just stay in bed with the covers over my head on the 26th.

... but Susan Miller is the only one (worth a damn) that publishes a full month for free.

25. It's up now
I went there yesterday and got a big ol' page load error. I think Susan needs mightier servers to handle her fan base on the first few days of the month! It worked by last night.

However, looks like another dramatic month, at least for us Cappies. zoinks.

26. Good thing her Gemini horoscopes are usually wrong for me
Otherwise this month is going to be absolute hell for me on the full moon. Thrrrrpt. She's predicted really great things that never happened, and now she's predicting a nightmare that probably won't happen either. I'm not really sure why I keep reading her.

I like Rick's horoscope predictions better.

27. Interesting
For me, what she predicts and what Rick writes complement each other. Ah well, that's the way it is sometimes--some people resonate with certain forecasters and psychics, and some with others. The only thing that never applies to me with the AstrologyZone forecasts is the "possible unexpected travel". I NEVER travel unexpectedly! I guess that's for some other Cappies.

31. Ugh, I shouldn't have looked.
I've been fearing & expecting a shakeup at work and even though my company is notorious for it, have been preoccupied with other endeavors and not gotten a "Plan B" ready to go ... and now it looks like the 6/26 eclipse may bring me that pink slip. :(

5. ... woke up on June 1 feeling very agitated ...
anxious, nervous, crabby ... a disturbance in the force, but I felt like I've not felt since before I started taking Wellbutrin over a year ago. By early evening the disturbance had passed and I ultimately ended up nauseous, almost like I went thru another dimension or some kind of pressurized room during the course of the day. Weird.

Been feeling that way since just before 6/1 and again today, and expecting it to continue for a few more days if it's going to mirror the pre-6/1 feeling. No idea why. NONE.

I just canceled (postponed) my Dr. appt for this afternoon. Little voice telling me not to drive my car today!!!! Had visions of it breaking down between here and there, and no one to come get me.(daughter is away for the afternoon.) I called to reschedule for next week. I feel like I'm in a "fear cage" of agoraphobia today ???? I don't usually have such STRONG feelings of dread, so I listened to my little inner voice today. I really do need to do something about a better car that I can trust though. After 8 or 9 years of carefree driving in my mini van ('99 Chevy Venture) to be saddled with this 87 Mazda shit bucket is getting to be too much stress.!!!

29. My 2 cents
You DID go thru another dimension. The reason it was disorienting is that we're free now; it'll take some getting used to.
Unfortunately, as is human nature, we got used to having chains on.

This process is happening to everyone I know; only we all use different words.

Congrats! :hi:

and I'm feeling the crabbiness myself. It's getting hotter here in Texas and I hate the heat. That may be one cause of it...along with many others.

Glad this group is here.:hi:

I find I get crabby because none of my favorite TV shows are on or they are repeats. It puts me in a kind of sour mood.

19. I know why I've been crabby.

Because I have not been out of this little town in the last three months. It came to a head with the crapfight over religion I detailed in GD with the carpenter who can't stand to be corrected. Especially by an educated woman.

DH and I basically need to hit the big city (We're talking 150 miles and an over night stay, which is fine with me) for shopping and intelligent life & culture about once a month to keep our sanity. Most of the white folks here are pretty reactionary and racist. We have no interest in church or football. All you can talk about is gardening or the weather.

Today DH went to get a haircut and said the barber lady's husband was talkin' bout Timmy Mcveigh and how "there's a-gonna be a lot more of that stuff comin' on -- he shoulda bombed the White House instead of that Fed'ral Buildin'".

:wtf: And these assholes think you agree with them!!!

To the barber lady's credit, she rolled her eyes when the idiot hubby wasn't around.

Seems like all the adult males around here are control freaks busy controlling their families, and they have serious anger problems.

The idiot next door chopped his sago palm into little pieces because the fronds turned brown and died!!! It was probably the most valuable thing they owned. And this was after our carpenter told them it would sprout new green fronds!! Idiots! Then they burned it. And the wife (the same one who thinks "buddhism is VOODOO") hates her magnolia tree. When there was a drought last summer I snuck a hose over to her front yard and watered it, since it was expressing its tree nature, and its tree nature had nothing to do with her attitude.

I don't understand people who hate and destroy nice plants. But then, anger problems.

28. Deep East Texas.
Or "Deep Shit East Texas". They put headlines on the front page of the local rag that say "AMERICA IS A CHRISTIAN NATION" with cherry picked quotes from Teddy R. and Tom Jefferson.

I sent them a copy of the Treaty of Tripoli with the first sentence of Article 11 picked out in hot pink highlighter.

Like I said, I'm 150 miles from Houston or Dallas. You can probably guess what ethnic group our real friends belong to, and they all voted for Obama. :D

Why do I live here? The price was right. I inherited a lovely 130 year old house on two acres.
The traffic in Houston is deadly.

The carpenter dude has a wife and youngest kid who loves science. We've started SNEAKING THEM BOOKS. Apparently the 12 year old does NOT HAVE A DICTIONARY!! :banghead:

His mom said he enjoyed reading the books I gave him, but he doesn't know what some of the words mean and he has to use context. That means they don't have a dictionary goddamnit!!

The kids have been homeschooled until recently. Control freak daddy is handicapping them in mind and spirit just as surely as if he put casts on their legs so they couldn't walk.

Next trip to civilization I'm getting them a dictionary and a thesaurus.

I gave the kid two Carl Sagan classics to chew on: COSMOS and THE DEMON HAUNTED WORLD:SCIENCE AS A CANDLE IN THE DARK.

21. Some people will never understand how to care for plants,
be it in the ground or in pots. You should be prepared for complaints of "What's that horrible smell?!" when you build your compost heap ;) You might also want to add some manure to it to help heat it up...

If it's been three months, then y'all need to come to town again (Houston) and we'll go shopping at Central Market :D

Unless you'd prefer Costco?
(I'm not a member there...)
