Since reading the" I Ching "post....
Edited on Wed Feb-17-10 11:36 PM by JanusAscending
I have felt like I am in a downward spiral.....and I just don't understand why I am getting all of these negative vibes. I'm doing well on the smoking cessation, and I'm proud of myself for that!(19 days smoke free) I won't say it's easy, but I'm taking it one day at a time. I however get the feeling that the "dye is cast" and I'm waiting for the sword of Damocles to fall on my head, and there's nothing I can do about it. The stress is building...I've let things go for too long, and soon I will be paying the piper. Every area of my life is going to be affected, and I stand to lose everything. That's what I get for making the same mistakes over and over, and expecting a brighter outcome. I started feeling better while on the oral pills for the thrush. Each day a little more of my taste returned and I was producing more saliva. Once the 10 days of meds were up, it started going down hill again. I'm just getting so tired of fighting and trying to do this by myself..I'm about to just give up and throw in the towel. I have to relieve my stress somehow, so I'm going to try to just "LET GO,AND LET GOD and His Universe do my healing for me. I'm too tired to strive with this any longer.

1. JA, is there a reason why you had to stop the pills after 10 days?
Could they be extended? Have you spoken to your doctor about this fact? Please don't give up, sweetie. I completely understand your being exhausted by this seemingly never-ending situation. I'm praying that you find a permanent and easy solution to your problem, and I'm sending light your way with the intention that it help to raise your spirits so that you have the energy to continue to fight for your good health to return.:hug:

3. That's the amount of time he said to take them,
and the prescription bottle says no refills. I will however call the office tomorrow to see if he will renew them, especially since they were making me feel better. I think that this drug..Diflucan... is very hard on the liver. It's been a bad week all around..SNOWED IN..(I can't shovel)plus my landlord is in the hospital, and the whole park is (6 other trailers,4 owned, and 2 rented) uncertain of what could happen if he doesn't make it! It's been very stressful which doesn't help my health one iota! What's going on this month???Are others besides us "cappies" going through this stress and uncertainty "purgatory"??? Our Seniors only trailer park is "grandfathered into the town's property use ordinance. If the ownership changes families, it can no longer be used for this purpose, as mobile home parks have been banned within the Town limits! Someone would have to buy us out I guess, but doubt we'd get fair market value!!

6. JA, I know that you've taken acidophilus before but...
I'm wondering if you've taken enough. I have to take at least 10 capsules of PB8 a day. If I miss even one day, I notice my symptoms coming back. For me, the intestinal flora never really rebuilds so that it can take over on its own, so the capsules have to do all of the work. I'm wondering if this is what's happening for you also.

When you took acidophilus, how much did you take a day? Did you take the refrigerated kind (or PB8, which is equivalent to the refrigerated kind but doesn't need refrigeration)? Did you wait at least 2 hours after eating and 20 minutes before eating when you took them? I can't say how strongly how much acidophilus helped me. I'd be in exactly your boat if it weren't for them. They were a god-send for me. I'm wondering if they would be for you also if you took a higher dosage of them.

2. Don't give up.
The hexagram is about waiting and enduring. Not giving up.
The negative vibes are from the attachment (smoking)you are giving up.The attachment is doing all it can to maintain its grip.DON"T give in.
Can the thrush meds be refilled? If so,do so.Let the meds do the work for you.( G O D sometimes=Good Ol' Drugs)

4. I agree with IHAD and conscious evolution....
Please get a refill on the meds. Giving up smoking for 19 days is HUGE!!!!! That combined with not feeling well is a tremendous challenge, but you can do it.

YOU ARE DOING IT.

I also pray for continued strength for you, JanusAscending, and sending infinite hugs of support and healing your way!!!!!

5. another remedy maybe?
Just got over the worst sore throat EVAH! And what seemed to do the trick was something I'd never
heard of, but that a new doctor in town told me about. I had been gargling w/ salt and warm H20
with zero help. He said to try 1/3 hydrogen peroxide, and 2/3 very warm water. Never EVER heard
of this before. Tried it, and dang if I didn't get some relief.

Stay strong!

7. JA, it can take a long time to come back from illness
Smoking is a huge strain on your immune system; before I read that you were a smoker my feeling was that your immune system was faltering...that's why the candida was taking over. It's opportunistic and often takes over people with immuno-compromised conditions.

The anti-yeast compounds are hard on the liver, that's why the short duration. But talk to your doctor and he may be able to put you back onto something else, or maybe you'll be able to take it intermittently. Yeast takes a long time to drive back...taking probiotics such as acidopholus helps fill in with missing friendly bacteria, but it won't actually push the yeast overgrowth back.

In the meantime, quitting smoking is the best thing for you, but your in the difficult time. Don't forget that commercial cigarettes are spiked with addictive drugs, so you are literally suffering from withdrawal. That's an added stressor. And the weather certainly doesn't help. We're still in the insufficient sunlight stage and craving UV rays and warmth. Take extra-good care of yourself. Lots of fluids, lots of fruits, liver tonics, to help flush toxins out of your system. You will have a heavy toxic load to clear out, both from the poisons in the cigarettes, the powerful chemicals to kill the yeast, dead and dying yeast, etc. That's another stressor.

And of course the fear of loss of your home is a huge stressor. Do try to let go; let god.

Astrologically we're coming in the cardinal t-square, approaching the cardinal grand cross. With sun in cap, yes you will be feeling this in a big way. See the thread above on the cardinal grand cross. Everybody with planets in specific signs will be feeling it particularly intensely...but it's going to turn everything upside down, both at the global level as well as individually. We are all paying the piper, both collectively and individually...

8. Maybe if she can get the candida under control with the drugs...
the acidophilus will help to keep it in check. It really has worked miracles for me. I can't stress that enough, and I can immediately feel it if I miss even a single day. Amazing stuff -- at least for me. :)

9. that's the goal
neither one by itself is sufficient once you have significant overgrowth. Without the chemicals, you can't beat back the candida. Without the friendly bacteria, the yeast (or something else, say unfriendly bacteria) will grow back. Nature abhors a vacuum...

Eventually also hopefully the immune system regains enough strength to keep the yeast in check. But that means staying off the cigarettes, eating a healthy diet, getting plenty of exercise, sunshine and fresh air, reducing emotional stress (which often is outside our control when our world is getting flipped around), etc. And the older we get, the more work it is to maintain health...

10. JA, please follow IHAD's advice on this
And congrats on quitting smoking. If you can do that, you can deal with the doctor, the drugs, and the candida.

11. The nicotine withdrawal may be contributing to your feelings.
Edited on Thu Feb-18-10 11:35 AM by davsand
I know they SAY that the nicotine is out of your system in about three or four days, but do keep in mind that the brain gets accustomed to a specific chemical bath. IF you change that--for instance by removing nicotine from the equation--you will have period of time where the brain adjusts to that new chemistry that is present. Nicotine affects specific parts of the brain, and that absence may be part of what is causing your negative feelings.

I'm not saying it is everything, but I do want to urge you to keep it in the back of your mind these days.
