Weird energy, and rather sudden
Anybody know if there's something going on today, energy wise? This morning felt "normal". I spent the whole day in the house, then when I went to pick up MG Jr. from school at 2:00, the energy felt different. It was like walking out into a world that had gone into slow motion or something. And the air felt like soup. Granted, it's unseasonably warm today, but it went beyond the physical. Felt like everything was underwater--people were walking around like they were half asleep; a policeman pulled over a car with just lights, no siren; MG Jr's school was unusually quiet, like nobody was there (an elementary school!) Now I feel kind of suffocated, like the air is too close. Weird, weird, weird. And icky. Any ideas?

1. Don't know if this might be it ..
But tropical storm, Ida, has made landfall in the southern US.

2. Ah hah! Yes, quite likely!
Thank you, WS--I had forgotten about Ida, as I am so far north. But I am very susceptible to pressure changes and you're right--I have felt this before when tropical storms and other major weather events are moving up the coast.

Interesting--even MG Jr. commented about it a few minutes ago. He asked for some water, and said his throat was dry. I asked him if it felt stuffy in the house, and he said yes, and hot too. It is terribly humid and overcast. We opened the front door (in November?!) and it's helped somewhat. But it does feel like someone is holding a wet washcloth over my whole face. Ew. x( Glad I'm not cooking tonight (Leftover City).

3. I thought it strange
that I got an email from the CDC pertaining to the storm. I signed up for their updates due to the flu. I never knew they were involved with storms.

4. CDC? Srsly?
That is weird. Why would the Center for DISEASE Control be sending out notifications about weather events indeed.

6. Bizarre
From the site:

Emergency Preparedness and Response:
What CDC Is Doing

Preparing people for emerging health threats is one of CDC's overarching goals. CDC contributes to national, state, and local efforts to prepare for and prevent public health disasters before they occur. When a disaster has occurred, CDC is prepared to respond and support national, state, and local partners in responding in order to improve public health outcomes. After response to a disaster has ended, CDC assists national, state, and local partners in the recovery and restoration of public health functions.

Still weird.

7. You should feel the weird vibes down here
eerie...started after lunch, has gotten creepier. It's a weird little storm; Hurricanes and tropical storms don't normally affect me at all. Wonder how LilDreamer is doing? She lives in NC too.

8. Exactly that time!
Even my 6 YO said that. He said, "Mama, there's a disturbance in the force today." I told him he was quite right (I hadn't mentioned anything to him yet) and explained about the tropical storm. He said it started just after lunch, which was also the time I noticed it, as you said.

Yeah, vibes to folks in the south, for sure.

9. Weird energy in NC
Right now it feels okay, but this afternoon was eerie...disturbing like an Alred Hitchcock movie.

The air is humid and warm and it's supposed to start raining tonight through Wednesday, but it isn't as oppressive feeling as it was earlier in the day. It hit just after lunch here too.

10. I'm in NC...

Maybe that's part of the density I'm feeling. I wasn't thinking about the literal storm, but it's interesting to have a tropical storm come through this time of year...and right before 11:11.

I'm pretty focused on 11:11, can you tell? ;)
