Do you believe in signs? I mean things that are out of the ordinary or out
of sync. Well I believe I got several today. On my way to the store there was black smoke rising from one of the hills across the road from me. Well wildfires are not unusual in California but they are an odd enough event that we don't see them everyday, nor do we want to. The fire truck nearly ran me over on it's way there. They did manage to put it out before it spread. Then I had to climb a road on a hill on the way to the store that gives a huge vista of the ocean, but today it looked very different. There were hardly any clouds in the sky but the water was a deep indigo blue quite different from the sapphire blue that is its normal color. I was wondering if the earthquake in Indonesia stirred up some tsunami action that caused it to change its color so drastically. I had been think of earthquakes a lot lately and it must have been the recent one in Indonesia that I was tuning into.

Lastly, when I was leaving the market, a huge flock of mourning doves flew over me. Now we don't see those guys too often because the predator hawks are usually lurking around trying to pick them off. Now the doves could be a totem for me because they seem to appear at seminal moments in my life, yet nothing has happened to me lately that I know about yet. Also, my surname means peace and since the doves are a symbol of peace, I wonder. So three symbolic things occurred, smoke, dark water and doves. Anybody want to speculate what could be going on? I thought I might do a throw of the cards to see if spirits are trying to get my attention about a matter.

I'm wondering if these are little signs that the shift is beginning to get serious.

1. I believe in signs.
As they say, no coincidences. I would be interested to hear what a toss tells you.

2. Yes, but I have to kind of get myself in the mood for it.
I still have too much debris hanging on my mind from this weekend's health care discussions.

3. Let me know how you get
out of the space of the healthcare debacle - truly want to know that.

But, yesterday was the official beginning of the Sixth Night (Calleman)-it does sound like Spirit was trying to capture your attention. Share with us, if appropriate.

4. I'm not familiar with that since I'm not a Pagan.
Could you explain further?

5. It's the Mayan calendar
Here's an interesting graphic:

Calleman's site explains:

http://www.calleman.com/content/articles/nov8_sixth_night.htm

It isn't specifically related to Paganism.

Cleita . I don't do many readings any more. Your post made me remember, tho, I used to take Epsom baths and/or ground and smudge before my readings. Do you do something like that?

(sorry Delph, don't mean to step on toes - please add anything else re: Sixth Night)

7. I don't do any rituals. I just know when I'm in the right frame of mind
to do the cards. I haven't been in the right frame of mind for a while with all this political maelstrom whirling around me about an issue I'm very close to. I feel if it still is nothing more than a commercial giveaway, this country will still sink into more spiritual darkness. Honestly, I think we need a smudge protest in Washington to drive away all the dark influences and spirits who are obviously roosting there. How about a million spiritualist march with everyone doing smudging? I imagine we would be regarded as crazy as tea baggers, but it seems like it's needed.

6. In the Anonymous programs, they're sometimes called "Godshots".
Synchronicity, Syntony, Synergy. Keep a watch out as many blatant exceptions to the ordinary may relate spiritual information. Especially if your attention is drawn, over and over, to any particular item.

I hope that you are guided to understanding. (You -can- ask for explanations...for energy, insight, support, perspective and experience...so tell us what these things mean, to you.. :)

The Shift will at some point become noticable to the average Jane and Joe. It's already visible, if you correlate the number of celebrity deaths occuring right after the very important summer solstice. (Oh, what a writhing can of worms has just been opened...)Also, the increase in Muckers is telling. (Read John Brunner's classic and prophetic "Stand on Zanzibar"!)

8. But of course
The way we can tell when we're receiving a sign is that we notice it's a sign. but true--when certain events stand out so clearly that we can't help but notice them, the Universe is trying to tell us something.

And YES the Shift is really starting to get serious. Seatbelt check, everybody!

11. I agree
I had a weird synchronistic shot yesterday on the way home from work, and I think it was due to my worrying so much about the health care issue in Congress. I was on the way home and there was utility work and a detour down some back streets a couple of miles from our condo complex. I am driving along following the other cars and I look up and see the back of a familiar landmark in my town and was struck with the nick-name of the Kentucky Senator who once lived there "The Great Compromiser", I was looking at the back of Henry Clay's estate. My mind started churning concerning the health care bill going to the Senate and I wondered if the Universe was trying to tell me there would be compromise. Then as we drove along in single file the whole line of cars followed onto a dead end street and had to turn around, the detour wasn't marked well by the utility company and people just mindlessly followed the lead car, but we finally found our way out of the labyrinth of the old neighborhood and wove back onto a main drag at last. When I looked at my car clock it seemed that I hadn't even lost any noticeable time getting home.

It was just a weird "coincidence" that I had been worrying about what was going to happen in the Senate with health care, so I immediately started thinking "sign". The south was causing all the problems in Henry Clay's day as well, still blind followers being led by the ultra-rich and selfish who utilized the worst in humanity to get their way.

I don't know a lot, so I guess I go with what I am presented, I figure the Universe knows my level, LOL!

14. that's a pretty cool and powerful sign, isn't it?
the universe is quite sublime in the symbolic poetry it whispers in one's ear. very much the 'small spark starts the bonfire' display of power, isn't it?

12. gaia is discharging the negativity absorbed...
that's the best message i'm getting. she's been a powerful support spirit for living beings on here, often being a ground and sink. but she wants to ascend herself now. that requires a disgorging of quite a bit of... "blood on the land," if you will.

i'm getting the whole "muddy reality," a little too real, darkly surreal, vibe going about my business of late. like driving to visit friends this weekend, up and down the freeway the colors of reality and the sharpness of details are off and shifting. it's like someone is playing with the reality remote, and lord help us if they tinker with the vertical hold.

but i don't feel any sense of fear about all this. quite the contrary, i just feel like i need a lot of sleep because we're gonna be very busy soon. dunno what that means, though. "god's comin', look busy!" ha ha! oh i loved that bumper sticker...

13. Cleita ..
If you're not up to throwing a reading, why not just think about the colors and symbols as they are used in Tarot?

The Dove is most prominent on the Ace of Cups. I can't think of where smoke appears; a Wands suit card? Indigo reminds me of the High Priestess, but it might mean something else to you. Any ideas?

15. It occurred to me that I was being given the signs for fire, water and
air. The only thing missing is earth. I've been busy, with work and all, so my concentration is still elsewhere.
