Steve Bhaerman interviews Gail Larsen.

"Real Speaking isn't just about speaking, it's about how to do life," according to Barbara Gordon, who returned for a second class following a major life transition. Click here http://www.realspeaking.net/article2.php to read about her experience firsthand.

Delightful interview. Their discussion of fear especially caught my attention.
(They also had some interesting comments re: Van Jones.)

"Fear is merely excitement without the breath." So stated the legendary psychiatrist Fritz Perls.

Gail told of an exercise you can do with a partner when you are caught up in fear. If someone stands behind you, they can easily knock you off balance, move you all over the place. After doing a breathing exercise to ground your breath, the exercise partner is unable to budge you off your spot! This exemplifies why the controllers use fear. We are easily persuaded and moved to actions that are not in our best interest, because we are ungrounded.

Steve Bhaerman is a humorist with a new project/website "The Department of Heartland Security". It is the antidote to the scary and Constitution stripping 'homeland security'. He co-authored a new book with Dr. Bruce Lipton, SPONTANEOUS EVOLUTION:
Our Positive Future and a Way to Get There From Here
. (He will friend you on Facebook.)

This exercise is something I remember from Yoga, albeit it is combined with somewhat bent knees and bringing the center of your gravity to the base chakra area. Likewise, a relaxed stretched out arm can not be bent by someone else, while a stretched out arm with a lot of concentrated effort of rigidity is easy to bend.

Many of us I think are struggling with fear, perhaps it all comes back to centering yourself into the now...
