Riddikulus! Banish the boggart! (On the recent insanity of the polarized public)
This was posted in GD, but it sank rather quickly. I think it's worth reposting here because we know the value of having a good laugh--not only for our own mental and physical health, but also to banish the darkness.

Finger bitten off during California health protest

(AP) THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — California authorities say a clash between opponents and supporters of health care reform ended with one man biting off another man's finger.

Ventura County sheriff's Capt. Frank O'Hanlon says about 100 people demonstrating in favor of health care reforms rallied Wednesday night on a street corner. One protester walked across the street to confront about 25 counter-demonstrators.

O'Hanlon says the man got into an argument and fist fight, during which he bit off the left pinky of a 65-year-old man who opposed health care reform.

A hospital spokeswoman says the top joint of the man's pinky was bitten off, including the entire fingernail. It was not reattached.

She says he had Medicare.

O'Hanlon says the attacker fled but authorities have a good description.

As a journalist myself, I have to say just the fact that the AP stringer tossed that line in--that the victim, who opposes health care reform, has Medicare--speaks VOLUMES about the true viewpoint of the MSM (excluding Faux, of course--that's NOT journalism). AP stringers are usually required to put out just-the-facts, dry informational reports, but apparently this little tidbit was too rich to pass up. I think it shows the evolving (or, rather, revelatory) viewpoint of the MSM--seems like they're starting to admit that the far right is completely off its nut.

Happy Labor Day weekend, y'all! :hi:

1. Yup
An AP writer with a sense of irony.........

There is such a disconnect--they love their Medicare but hate socialized medicine.

:silly:

I, too, hope everyone has a nice holiday.

3. Very good one
These people are bat-shit crazy! They absolutely should be laughed at, it is the best thing. And they do make it easy!

Taking a completely humorous view of them can go a long way, people feel like they are right when they are fought, they feel like idiots when laughed at.
