Do you realize, Dean has kept the first of his 2 campaign promsies?
They were:

1. We're going to take back this Party, and then

2. We're going to take back the White House.

Well, technically, we've just made a good START on the first one, but it's a helluva start and I'm so happy tonight with Romer dropping out.

The other thing that absolutely thrills me about this is that WE DID IT. WE DID IT!!! The PEOPLE made it impossible for the Party Bosses to do waht they wanted to do. We staged a revolution, people! Apparently, we really DO have the power.

YEEAAAARRGH!!!

so I didn't know Romer had "dropped out"!

BOOYA! Dean has kept his eye on the prize thoughout and that has helped me immensely through this whole takeover our Country has experienced.

If everyone has dropped out then we get to celebrate early!

Dean said he wouldn't enter the race if he didn't think he could win..and he sure came through on that one! :bounce: :D

3. Yes, Dean is now without opposition
He's the right man for the job. Let's hope that he's able to galvanize the party.:kick:

5. Thanks! Dean does look tired in
that photo, does he not?

Yeah, I wonder who wanted romer in(top officials)?

I don't like what he has to say or the way he says it.

6. You're welcome. Yes, now that you mention it, he does look very tired
in that photo. But he has campaigned very hard for this, only a good thing, IMO, since we need someone with a passion for the job. We need to take back the party, and thus the country, and Dean has the skills to do it.

From what I've read, it seemed to me that it was Roemer who felt obligated to weigh in, to bring the party back to the center. Also, IMO, that was the problem that we had in the election, not distinguishing our positions enough from Bush*. I think that this was a huge mistake. And I have to agree, I didn't like either what Roemer said or how he said it. I'm relieved that he dropped out.

12. Ech, that Roemer quote. Warn yourself, good buddy.
I mean, no shit the party's in trouble. Tell me though, exactly how someone who's too intimidated to even stand up to their political opponents across the aisle is supposed to make us feel "safer" from people who are even more directly trying to kill us?

oh well, more wound-licking, whatever makes him feel better I suppose. go Dean go!!

2. You forgot one.
First, take the party back.

Second, take the country back (elected officials locally and congress)

Third, take the white house back.

Boy, is it going to get heated this week.

7. Props to Mark Brewer...
granted, he wanted Fowler and was foiled by the state chairs....but he got what he wanted vis a vis more state funding and control. If he hadn't have opened the vetting process up and created a forum approach, the DNC chair would have been chosed in a smoky backroom, just like Carville, the DLC, et. al would have wanted it.

Don't know what he wanted more, Fowler or state's control, but the process allowed Dean's voice of truth to steamroll right down the middle...

So here's to Mark Brewer!

8. Interesting point
At least I think I know what you're talking about -- the State Chair's group? IS he the one who circulated a memo more or less demanding certain things from the candidates/new Chair?

You know, tho, Dean worked really hard on this. He called each and every member to speak to them directly -- 447 members! and you know he was talking to the big ones more than just once. Too, he didn't do that well by comparison in the forums I saw. Fowler and Wellington and even Leland looked great in those. So he put in a lot of effort too. Not sure that the forums were that big a deal in the final analysis (thinking aloud here more than actually disagreeing).

9. Yes, he's the one. I don't trust him very much, but at least this time
he came through...whether it be knowingly or not. I truly do (at least I want to) think the party is finally acknowledging the grassroots. Either that or they think they can reign in Dean by keeping him in their immediate sight. If the latter is the case...boy will they have a "babysitting" job on their hands...! ;) :hi:

Good to see you Eloriel. I don't know if you remember, but once a long time ago...we had a discussion about my blue collar, more Libertarian husband supporting Dean. He's a diehard Dem now. We're winning them over...one by one. :7

10. Yes we did! But I also wonder what Jim Jordan told Dean
Dean hired Jim Jordan, Kerry's former campaiggn manager who Kerry fired in Nov 2003 after Dean won the endorsements of the 2 unions, to help him win the DNC Chair. I wonder what their actual game plan was, but whatever it was, it worked.

Go Dean!

maybe Dean will write a book on it someday and tell us what went on behind the scenes..it would be fascinating reading like that article by Ryan Lizza in the new republic. :hi:
