Help! My friend is trying to adopt a dog from the Irving, Tx pound and they

aren't cooperating.

The dog is scheduled to be put down tomorrow. Its a Pet Pardon dog.

I posted it on CL, too. She needs someone to go and adopt the dog from the shelter and send it to Chicago.

I know it seems crazy but this dog has touched her heart in relation to her beloved dog, Artie, who died last year.

Any ideas as to what to do?

She's been trying to get hold of someone at the pound but unable to make a contact.

Thanks!

From Craig's List post:

Hi, We need a kind soul to get this dog from the Irving dog pound as she will be put down tomorrow. We need someone to help foster her/take her to the airport to fly to Illinois. SHe is on the Pet Pardon Facebook page for Irving Texas.

Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!

1. I would also post this in the Texas forum
I hope that you find someone to save the dog. Good luck!

3. See if she can contact a rescue group in the area

A lot of shelters won't release a dog to "just anybody" from a distance. Many will only release to a rescue groups.

Your facebook links didn't work for me but has she tried reaching out to this group to see if they have contacts: http://www.facebook.com/IrvingAnimalShelter

Sorry but random posts on Craig's list are not going to help - she needs to reach out to folks who actually do this stuff.

Looks like this is an email address for the shelter re: adoptions: lforsythe@cityofirving.org

Here's a list of rescue groups in Texas that she can reach out to for help:http://dog.rescueshelter.com/Texas
