I'm getting a litter of puppies to foster
I think I'm crazy, hopefully they will all be gone by the end of the weekend. They are 8 week old lab pups, 4 yellow and 1 chocolate. Should be fun, but I doubt my 7 year old golden will be pleased. He does well with 1 at a time, but 5 is usually too much for him. Anyway, these are the pics I have so far.

3. OMG - look at the feet!
I love the feet and legs of Lab puppies - they're little tree stumps. They're all legs and belly at that age. So cute. Have fun!

(And yeah, I think you're a little crazy, too! ;) )

So cute.....nothing funnier than a bunch of puppies rolling around on the floor. Have fun and I hope they each find their forever home soon.

5. We got a litter of 5 black pups in last Friday, they were all adopted by Sunday night
So I doubt they will be around long. We didn't get puppies in for a long period, and now all of a sudden we have them coming out our ears. We also have a mom who just gave birth last Saturday to 8, and a pregnant mom in the system.

8. Lucky dogs to have you as a foster mom.
You'll get as much as you give, I bet. Enjoy! They are adorable.

9. PUPPIES!!!
I want one but I don't need another dog right now. I've got four, three of which are over 15 years old-one of them with a gimp leg, and an 8 year old Rat Terror.

12. It isn't as hard as you think. Especially when you have a litter
But I am down to 2 now, 3 have been adopted. I think you get to know them when there are just a few, and that is when they are dangerous. The 2 who are left are Miles and Juliet

16. Mini, keep me posted.
I ck in on the website once & awhile. We'll be ready to adopt by this winter. Hubby wants a puppy first, then we'll consider adding an older gal. I cannot wait!

Btw, where do all these babies come from? I mean, aren't Lab puppies in high demand?

17. You would be surprised

Breeders are having problems selling dogs, and they refuse to lower their prices to sell them. So they end up in rescue. All the puppies were gone by the end of the weekend. Then I got another one the next week who was the last of a litter of 11. It's the economy.

She was with me for about 10 days, she was 11 weeks when she got adopted. We have 2 other litters who were born in rescue and are still too young to adopt. The last one was a great dog, very smart and very sweet, and she shredded my hands like a normal puppy. Getting a puppy in rescue is sort of a crap shoot, you can be very successful if you are patient. We never know when puppies are coming in.

18. Thanks & for all you do.
The economy is hurting everyone. When people cannot make mortgage payments, it makes sense that they cannot afford to buy a puppy. Breeders should slow down, but they're probably looking for some cash too.

I LOVE the pics you post.

Your poor arms. I remember those days. Those sharp teeth, big paws, and cold wet nose rubs on my legs -- it's a labor of love.:)

The tolerant big yeller guy in the chair seems to know the drill well. ;)

Babies! Just love 'em.

Thanks again for ALL you do!
