Eddie - he was far too young to die
Eddie was my youngest dog, he just turned 3. In September, he started peeing too often and drinking a lot of water. Took him in to the vet, I thought he might have a bladder infection. To make a long story short, his kidney values were off, and we got sent to the specialist. It turned out that he had acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and the prognosis for that is really poor. I decided not to treat it, partly because of the money (it would have cost $4-5k) and partly because leukemia doesn't really respond well to chemo. They did put him on prednisone which gave him about 2 extra weeks, which he enjoyed. He had stopped eating around Friday, and today he stopped drinking. He was also sick today, so he was dehydrating even more, so I made the decision to end his misery. My poor boy had lost 16lbs in the last 6 weeks or so, he started out at 76lbs, and he was 60lbs today. You will have friends at the rainbow bridge. Run around and enjoy life, and know that I love you.

7. Thanks
As hard as it was to do, I know it was the right decision. I waited until he was ready, and today he was.
