Alice
Hi everyone. Some of you may recall my posting about Alice kitty, who is about 6, who did not like her ZD food.
Yesterday I heard a loud coughing coming from her and she urped up a bit of food and also water when she drank. Her voice was gone also, replaced by little gusts of air.
Took her to the Vet and an X-Ray has shown a tiny heart, enlarged blood vessels and water in her throat. He said most likely that she has Cardiopathy and that the prognosis is about 1-3 months. He did take further tests and sent them off but unless he sees something different, things do not look good.
Will find out more tomorrow as unfortunately for her stress levels, had to leave her there...it is 40 minutes away for us and we have a tornado watch and severe thunderstorm warnings now.
He is going to give her Lasix and something else which he said may make her feel a little more comfortable at least. She does not appear in pain but just a little tired.
God, am I bummed. Especially since we are now giving our Buster cat, 2 IV of fluid every day, a recent development from the pet poisoning. We know this for sure.
Damn.

1. Aww, poor Alice.
I hope that at least she can be made comfortable and you can have some happy time with her. I had a kitty who got some neurological disorder when he was only 7, and it was especially tough to lose such a young one. Alice

3. I'm sorry to hear about Alice
 It sounds like you have a good vet and if there is anything to be done to help her, he will do it.

4. Thanks everyone. She is home now and definitely not very well.
She has Restrictive Cardiomyopathy and that is usually pretty bad. I am worried as the weekend is upon me and if she needs to go it will be hard to get a Vet. If she rebounds a bit and stabilizes it will be a miracle for sure. She ate a little of Instinct wet and coughed later on. UGGGGG. She wet to lay with the other cats in the window perch but she looks like hell.

energies to Alice and asking the Universe to send her comfort. You're a good cat mom, and I ask the Universe to send you strength to deal with this situation (edited to add: and with your other cats' health issues.)
