I think my Sammy is depressed.

My son tells me if he looked like Sammy he too would be depressed! I worry because he has become so needy lately. He wants to be in my lap, or follows me around like I am giving milk. I cannot put my finger on any incident which would cause him distress.

He lives in a house of three adults and an 8 year old on a part time basis. He loves children and people in general, so I am wondering if he is missing interaction when the entire family is not here. My husband is gone for months at a time, my son is at work during the day, so it is just me as his primary caretaker.

He loves his walks, but has a hard time with other dogs because he wants to love them to death, and it makes them nervous.

I feed him organic wet & dry foods, and he gets plenty of water, so I assume his nutritional needs are being met. I wonder if I am worrying needlessly.

1. What a sweet face.
He looks like a love, but how about his ankles? Could he be feeling insecure because of pain?

2. Wow. You may be right.
He has been so horribly over bred. When I walk him, it is only a short distance, as his little legs wobble. He also has problems with his front legs popping out of joint if he jumps from the couch, and he did have an episode last week with his right leg. After I pop the leg back into place, and massage it, he walks and runs on it just fine.

I guess it takes a fresh eye to see the problem. It's off to Gary to see if he can give him something to help the pain.

Thanks!:)

3. Good luck. I hope that he's back to feeling perky right away.
I noticed then angle of his little ankles and because I used to have joint pain myself, it just popped into my head. I know I needed a lot more affection and reassurance when I was hurting. Give Sammy a good smooch from the yellerpup, will ya!

7. Keep us posted on results!
If everything is ok there, could he just be bored and need a little play? I'm not sure if his legs limit that ability, but maybe there's something you guys could do together that wouldn't require his running around. Or just
