A little doggie walked into my garage and my life tonight...
I was standing in my garage and the cutest little dog came walking right in and right up to me. He can't weigh more than five lbs. I picked him up and walked out to the front, but there was no one there. So I have a little visitor tonight. He's a miniature something, probably purebred, but I have no idea what. I gave him a bath. He's somebody's very sweet dog. Not any of my neighbors, I checked. He's wearing a collar, but no tag or ID.

I wonder if he was abandoned, or did he get lost, or is he just a happy wonderer.

How should I advertise a lost pet?

Does anyone have a good website of pictures of dogs, to identify him?

Thanks for any suggestions!:hi:

1. Inform police and animal shelter type places; vets offices;
post flyers on trees etc; classified in local papers.

Hugs to him and you!

3. Thanks for keeping him safe!
You never know if they are lost or abandoned, but I know that if one of mine ever got lost, I'd really like it if someone (like you) took it in and kept it safe.

So thank you for caring about him.

4. I would also watch the "lost" ads. Visiting the Vets with a picture is your best bet but
DO NOT just hand him over to anyone without them describing in detail this pup. Change the collar (leave it off in the posted pics too) so it is not the same color and get a cheap tag with your phone number on it from a hardware store that you can engrave on their machines. Cost less than a dollar.

5. I agree with the other posters but please be careful
about whomever answers your ads. See if the dog reacts to them and see if they know the dogs name and if the dog reacts to the name. Sadly there are a lot of cruel people out there.

Maybe just maybe doggie walked into your life forever....just sayin!!

6. Keep certain information off the flyers - like collar color and style.
That way you'll have a way to screen people looking for a free dog from the dog's family.

7. Maybe he's microchipped.
I think the vets and/or shelters have a scanner that can determine whether he's got one.

9. They do, and many rescue groups have these, as well.
If it's not convenient for you to take him to a vet to be scanned, you might call your local Petsmart (or equivalent) as they sometimes either have scanners, or some of the rescue groups who showcase their pets there might have one.

8. Sounds like someone dumped him!

I have no respect for people who dump their animals like garbage!
