Anyone have a feline fibrosarcoma story with a GOOD ending?
My Gideon's just had his second surgery to remove a tumor (first was last June). The vet says 90% of the time this cancer recurs, and usually quickly. I'm looking for that 10%.

This is Gideon, Misty and Gabe after being plied with catnip. Gideon is expressing his opinion about having to wear the STUPID SHIRT!

2. Awww!
They are so sweet. I'm sorry I have no knowledge of that, but wanted to send headbutts and purrs from mine.

4. An update on my boy...
...there's a third tumor now at the edge of the site of the first one. Unfortunately, this one is too close to his spine for the surgeon to recommend any action to remove it, and we agreed that he's been through enough. The good thing about these types of tumors is that they generally don't metastasize, but they can invade bone, so its location is not a good one. I'll just keep him with me as long as he's comfortable, which could be weeks or months, and make his remaining days good kitty ones.

5. Sorry to hear that the surgery didn't succeed as we had hoped, mak3cats.
I found that making my boys feel comfortable and loved in the time leading up their last days not only helped me cope, but drew me into closer communication with my pet than I ever conceived was possible. This will be a time of transition for both of you. If you can undertake it with an attitude of joy and gratitude, I think that you and your baby boy will be on the same wavelength. Aren't you glad that you have each other!

7. Thank you for your sentiments...
...Gideon isn't the first furbaby I've had to help ease out of life, but it doesn't seem to get any easier, does it?

and surrounded by love for whatever time he has remaining.
He is a handsome boy...and the picture of him in that shirt is priceless.
It looks like a baby's onesie.

8. I appreciate your comments and links as well...
...and to lighten the moment, have to tell you that the shirt indeed is a cut-up baby's onesie. I bought a pack of them, and, as I have no human children, asked the advice of a nearby shopper if she thought it would fit a 15-pound cat. She just looked at me oddly and pointed to the package where it clearly said, "Fits newborns up to sixteen pounds."

10. I'm so sorry for your bad news
As you saw from my post, one of my cat friends was diagnosed with inoperable cancer, so I have an idea how you feel. I wish you both the best.
