Need help with kitten
About 3 weeks ago I got a siamese kitten, male. Last monday I took him to the vet to get his first shots and all the other stuff. He got very sick, but by Friday he was much, much better. His old self, you know. Today I noticed he was liking his bottom (behind) a lot. Now I notice he is sorting ozzing a brown substance and is very swollen at his tail. I sticks out like a ball feels like there might be something liquid there. Has anybody out there ever had this problem with their kittens. I am calling the vet first thing tommorow.

1. I would get him to a Vet...
ASAP. He may have impacted anal glands, which is quite common in cats. I doubt it has any connection to the vaccinations that he received. How old is the cat and how many shots did he get at once? When they are really little, it is best to spread out the shots so that their little bodies don't get overloaded with too many vaccines. My guys always had reactions, so they got a shot of Benadryl right before receiving their vaccinations. Good luck at the Vet, keep us posted and let us know how the the little guy is doing.

2. He is 11 weeks old today.
Thank you. I thought it might have something to do with his de-worming.

7. Update on my kitten
Sorry that I have not updated this sooner, but here it is. To my astonishment, the vet said that his problem was a bite by my other cat, Jazzy, a female 9 years old. I was so upset because I hadn't realized that she might do something like that. She has never acted in that manner before. I asked the vet what I can do to prevent this from happening again and the vet said not to worry about it, that they will take of it and settle it themselves. Oliver is giving Jazzy a wide berth right now.

Anyway, he is on anti-biotics and is doing just fine. Will post pictures when I figure out how to do it.

3. It sounds like impacted anal gland to me, too. My Oscar
had a problem with that. He is overweight and has trouble with hard stools, too, but since I started giving him Science Diet Hairball formula, he hasn't had much trouble. Your little fella sounds too young for constipation problems, so I'd suspect an impacted anal gland. The vet's office can take care of it easily. Hope that's all there is to it.

You need to remember that you are required to post photos of any new pets. Would love to see a picture of your new little meezer.

4. I would love to do that
If someone can instruct me as to how.

I almost named him Oscar, but went with Oliver. He's a blue point and sooooo beautiful.

8. Go to Photobucket and open an account. It's free, and
there's a tutorial on how to post pictures on the internet. Would love to see little Oliver.

5. I hope all will be well and he will be better soon
Hope you don't have any expesnive curtains, including shower curtains in your house. If you do, best to take them down and put up cheaper ones.:)

Use the cheap shower liner for about 3 years at least.
