Here they are!

Sparky, Brutus, Paco, and Buddy.

Any opinions as to what kind of dog Sparky is? He weighs about 100 pounds and is three years old. We think he might be part Rhodesian Ridgeback, without the ridge.

Great forum!

2.  Thanks! Brutus is the dachshund and Paco is the black lab mix.
She's a female but my daughter named her Paco anyway! :)

Yes, we have our own "rainbow coalition," don't we?

10. He was already named when we got him
but it is a good name for him because he's really just the opposite of a brute. :)

Brutus belonged to my son's friend. He had killed a kitten and since the family also had a ferret, they were afraid he might kill the ferret if it got out of its cage. The ferret cost more so they decided to give Brutus away. Dachshunds were bred to kill small animals so he was just doing what came naturally but that was eight years ago and he's never killed another animal. He's the oldest of our four (almost 9) but is such a baby!

11. I grew up with a Dachsund...
I was 2 when we got him,and 20 when he died. He had a huge impact on my life. Since then, I've always had dogs. My life would be empty without them. My Dachshund was awfully good to me. As a 2 yr. old I would pick him up and carry him everywhere with me, and I wasn't particularly careful about how I held him but he never tried to bite me. He had many back problems, slipping discs repeatedly. Vets always told us he'd never walk again, but given enough time, he always recovered from them.(the back problems not the vets)

12. What a great looking group
How did you get them to pose so nicely for you, it looks like you were dangling a treat in your other hand. My dog either runs and hides from the camera or sticks her face right in the lens.

13. You're right.
My daughter was holding the treats while I took the picture. My dogs aren't "formally" trained but it was very easy to teach them to sit before they get a snack! We like to toss little snacks and they're all good at catching them but they have to be sitting first. :D

15. Do you have any guesses as to what kind of dog Sparky is?
We've guessed he has some Rhodesian Ridgeback in him. Here are some pictures of other Ridgebacks and then Sparky. Sparky has no ridge but he sure looks like these other dogs, don't you think?

And here's Sparky:
