On the 13th of this month
we had to have our older Bouvier, Rosie, put down. It was wrenching for both of us.

Our vet sends out condolence cards, signed by all the doctors and staff, and we appreciated getting that. Today we opened the mail to find a letter from the University of Georgia, college of Veterinary Medicine (the closest vet school) informing us that our vet and his staff had made a donation to the school in Rosie's memory.

I love our vet.

2. That was so very thoughtful! I'm so sorry to hear about Rosie.
I live in Athens and have a good friend who was a professor at the vet school! The memorial donation is a wonderful idea! UGA's vet school is very good. :)

3. my vet does this too-- my letters come from the UC Vet School...

...at Davis. Everytime one of my pets dies, they send a donation in his/her name, and I get a thank you letter from the dean of the vet school. It's amazingly affecting.

I'm very sorry about your losing Rosie.

6. Sorry to hear about your furkid, you have a cool vet!
My assistant lost her 15 yr. old Bijon last month, and her vet's office sent her a card and the rainbow poem, we all bawled our eyes out reading that.

RIP Rosie.

My vet sent a condolence card and made a memorial donation to a veterinary medical society when my dog Jordi died too. This was the same vet who prescribed the Rimadyl which killed him.
