Best tasting canned cat food (to cats, of course!)?

My dearly departed kitty went bonkers over Fancy Feast, espeically the sardines, shrimp and fish feast, which was chunks of fish and little shrimp in a jelly. I have tried other canned foods on her and on my current fosters, but they just don't seem to care for them nearly as much as the Fancy Feast. I like to give them canned food, because I feel it's better for them, and they just seem to enjoy it more than kibble, but I want to find something they will really enjoy, like Fancy Feast (but I doubt F.F. has the greatest nutritional value). So, what brands of GOOD canned food have your cats found to be particularly yummy?

1. My finicky one likes Sheba

which is not as good for him as the more premium cat foods. I just remembered today that he also likes the Prairie venison, duck, and rabbit canned foods. I just ordered some over the internet today because my local pet store does not stock the Prairie canned food anymore. A shame, because it is very good for cats as far as I understand.

2. Prairie is excellent. Sheba is literally garbage

it contains "pet grade" meats, as does Fancy feast, Iams, Eukanuba,and Science diet (the uber lobbyist of busy vets who don't have time to read up on the differences between human and pet grade ingredients).Pet grade meats are leftovers from slaughterhouses that are unfit for human consumption. This includes diseased and rotted carcasses and sweepings from the slaughter house floor, as well as spinal material that is banned in many nations for fear of mad cow disease.

Prairie is made with only USDA ingredients, so it's safe enough for you to eat! There are many other human grade brands out there as well; Innova, Organix, Karma, Wellness, Pinnacle, Petguard, and Natural balance, just to name a few.

3. Fancy Feast is tasty to them because it contains corn syrup

and other ingredients that are addictive but can lead to diabetes and kidney failure. I learned this the hard way, as did my mother, who just lost her ten year old cat to kidney failure (the vet said his diet was probably to blame).

There are dozens of tasty USDA human grade pet foods out there that can help your cats live much longer, healthier lives. Try Merrick "cowboy cookout" or "thanksgiving day dinner", Wellness beef and chicken, Innova evo canned, Prairie Nature's Variety, or Natural Balance ultra formula (mine also like the turkey). Mix in a small amount of Solid Gold blended tuna to get them started on a new diet.

This report explores the differences between what consumers think they are buying and what they are actually getting. It focuses in very general terms on the most visible name brands — the pet food labels that are mass-distributed to supermarkets and discount stores — but there are many highly respected brands that may be guilty of the same offenses.

What most consumers don’t know is that the pet food industry is an extension of the human food and agriculture industries. Pet food provides a market for slaughterhouse offal, grains considered “unfit for human consumption,” and similar waste products to be turned into profit. This waste includes intestines, udders, esophagi, and possibly diseased and cancerous animal parts.

11. Whew!! Was able to wean the Little off FF and onto Merrick

I just figured that Fancy Feast COULD NOT be good for her, although she literally cries for it, and refuses anything else.

Thank God we found Merrick - she now treats that as if it's Fancy Feast, and I feel so much better about its ingredients.

We also give her California Naturals, which is human grade chicken and grain, and she likes that too, and it doesn't give her sores like other brands do.

4. Try the new Paul Newman's brand

my finicky cats love it! (No fish though, older cat had FLUTD)

5. My cats love Natural Balance

They even smell OK to me and I'm a vegetarian (so I hate the smell of icky meat and fish)

They seem to like all the varieties of it too.

I get it at a local pet store- I like going there because this store rescues kitties and I always get to visit them!

6. Solid Gold blended tuna is very high-grade, holistic canned food

for kitties..."paws-up" from three very spoiled British Shorthairs who would go crazy, dancing around waiting for the plate of food to be placed on the floor for their dining pleasure!

7. My kitties are huge fans of Pet Guard Fish, Chicken and Liver dinner

They also love the Turkey and Brown Rice flavor.

Wellness is also a very good brand, comes in wonderful flavors like Salmon & Trout :9

I'm going to print this out and take it with me when I go to the pet supply store. If I don't find any of them there, I will try ordering some online to try. I know it's important to feed them better grades of food. But I also figure that just like with humans' food, the healthiest stuff doesn't always taste the best, so I want to find them something yummy that will also be very healthy for them! 9. My girl goes NUTS for Merrick brand! Favorite flavors are:

Turducken
Thanksgiving Day Dinner
Grammy's Pot Pie

These are all poultry based, she doesn't care for the beef based ones as much.
