Tell me .....they won't get too distressed from being separated will they?
Edited on Mon Dec-12-05 03:33 PM by tencats
I have a probable good adopter for the kitten named Pong and another maybe for little Ping. However its been going on 2 weeks now that I have hesitated separating the the kittens from their mother and father. Now I surely did not need any more cats but the Momma Mouse and CB seem to be unusually close to their offspring. I was thinking of delivering Pong to my neighbors clutches this evening but he seems here to be being protected by his father.

Perhaps I should wait awhile longer?

The father Crazy Baby protects his only son.

1. Another great photo
I really just wanted to compliment you on another great pic. As for advice, I don't know if this is worth anything but I've heard about parent cats turning on their offspring once they're grown. So they may all get along famously now, the parents' instinct to push them out of the nest may kick in later when the kittens are no longer so cute and adoptable.

2. Change is part of life's parade --
They are such a beautiful family - I've loved all the pics you have posted. It seems like the kitties have all been given a wonderful start by their cat and human parents.

I am not saying that giving them up is the right thing to do - trust your gut.

Is there any chance you could give two kittens away to the same home and keep one for CB and Momma Mouse and yourself?

Has the neighbor come over and visited with the kitties, does one kitty in particular respond to that neighbor?

Have you gotten permission to go visit the kitty in its new home in a few weeks to see how everything is going?

Trust your gut.

3. awe great pic.
It's sad to let him go for him and the other cats.

I hope the new people spoil ping and pong.

I have no words of wisdom for your situation, just wanted to comment on your sweeties. I'm sure they will adapt whatever you decide to do.

6. Trust your gut
tencats, look at the language you're using--"the neighbor's clutches," CB "protects his only son." Sounds to me as if you don't feel right separating the kitties. Trust your gut.

7. 3-4 months is the best time to leave home for a kitten
4 months being ideal (I do pet rescue and have some experience with this). Are they going to homes with other cats? As long as there are other felines in the home, they should adjust quickly.

8. Don't do it
You love them far too much. It will break your heart. The kitty parents will be ok, it's you I worry about.

9. I Agree
You obviously love these kitties very much. I agree with demnan - keep them all! It would be a shame to break up this beautiful family. Besides, I will miss the great photos you post.

Are you planning on keeping Pang? No mention in your post.
