Hotmail problem
This time it's not for me. Have a friend who lives in an RV and the park he is staying at just got wifi. He wants to use his laptop for this but it seems to have something installed that is causing problems with accessing hotmail. I told him I would post his problem here, because it is the best place I have found for advice! I asked him to give me precise details about his error messages and what goes wrong, but right now he is on line somewhere else and not using the laptop, but here is what he said:

Thanks. I'll have to go back on my laptop (which is at home right now)

and get the exact details. This "problem" is all over the Internet -- google

"hotmail enabling cookies" and you'll find all sorts of solutions that MAY work

for some people... not for me (and they sound like they SHOULD work -- like,

duh... making sure my system has enabled cookies).

. I have made cookie-enabling adjustments to my "Tools -- Internet Options --

Privacy (and) -- Security" to no avail.

. It has to do with Passport.net (or net.passport, or something). It's MSN's

"authenticating tool" and many run into this problem. Over and over, people

suggest the same fixes and they just don't work for me.

. I'm wondering if it has SOMETHING to do with the EZ Firewall that I tried

for a trial period and decided not to buy. I can't uninstall it and it keeps popping

up with a reminder to "BUY ME -- I've been inactive for 583 days". Not even the

WiFi guy could figure out how to uninstall it.

. Can you just mention the "MSN net.passport problem with enabling cookies"

and toss in the possible contribution being made by this annoying firewall program?

. Thanks.
