Need help with weird problem.
I upgraded Linux to Ubuntu Linux 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx), last night.

Everything is fine except:
the horizontal bar at the bottom of the browser, just above the status bar,
both in FF and in Opera, has disappeared.
Well, actually, disappeared totally in DU3, but comes and goes in DU2.
I do not know the proper name of that bar, you use it to move the screen from left to right.
I need it, there are times during the day when I have to enlarge the window and need to move to the right or left to see everything.

Any ideas?

If I even knew the proper name for the damn bar, I could at least google it.

any help most gratefully appreciated.

1. Have you tried right clicking on it
or is it just gone altogether?

The bar is gone altogether from DU2 and DU3, but not from some other web pages.
It is gone from Google page, but not wunderground.com, for instance.
It shows up on Netflix.

so, appears selective.

on edit:
Interestingly, it appears/disappears on different webpages on Opera now, also.

The ONLY thing I changed was upgrade to Ubuntu 10.04 (lucid)

3. Think I got it figured out.
After a lot of reading.
Seems some sites are set up to NOT display the scroll bar, because they eliminate need for scrolling.
It is site coding control factor.
Which would explain why some sites, the bar appears.

Interesting.

Good to know it was not the upgrade as an issue.

4. In DU3
I posted this also, horizontal scroll bar should not be there unless page is wider than monitor screen, if page fits no bar needed.... that is why it comes and goes.
