You know those cookie driven google ads that show up ....
based on your browsing history? Well, how the hell do you get rid of them? (Yes, I use multiple layers of ad blocking software, but these are integrated browser history based ads that pop up within Crooks&Liars and multiple other websites.

Last summer, I let my neighbor search for 12 volt coolers that they could plug into the car and take with them on vacation. Since then, an add for compactappliances.com keeps coming up showing all the various 12 volt plug in coolers and related crap. I am SOOOOOO tired of looking at these...

Does anyone know how to get rid of them? I cleared cache and cookies, but they are still there!

2. I never see ads.
All I use is adblock plus 1.2.2 but of course you also need to be running firefox. Strange if you are having a problem and you are using what I use. You also need to install adblock lists that you can find on google.

3. I am using firefox, no script and adblock...
Never had this problem before... I usually get virtually no ads.

5. Have you added the lists
that you can google and ad to adblock? Maybe that is the difference I have.

6. Yes... when I first downloaded it...
Seems to still be there.

It is acting like there is still a cookie or some bit of cache that it is seeing, even though I cleared it. Will try again. Thanks ;)

9. I set my cookies
To originating site only and current session only. That clears the cookie cache when I close my browser(SeaMonkey)

Yes... I changed it, rebooted, and am not seeing the ad...I am not quite sure what got rid of it because I did lots of stuff. But, YEAH, the ad is gone. No more 12Volt cooler ads!

Thanks all!

11. An OT question if you please.

What do you think of SeaMonkey? I tried it over a year ago and thought it was OK but stopped using it because there weren't many add-ons to go with it at the time. I liked Mozilla Suite and was very comfortable using that. I guess SeaMonkey is the nextgen Mozilla Suite. TIA.

12. I prefer it over Firefox
There's plenty of add-ons, most Firefox add-ons will work.
