1. Yes, quite easily
One way is to use a proxy, though probably technically illegal since you are leaching someone else's bandwidth. Also, having tried it a few times, some work and some don't and most work much slower than your usual connection. There are also anonymizers, usually banned at talk boards (though I don't know what the policy is at DU).

Yeah, they will know the IP assigned to you by the router. Should be something like 192.168.0.*. They could also get your MAC address. Which wouldn't help them find you. If your computer name has your name in it they could find you that way or they could break into your computer and delete your hard drive. If someone hasn't secured their wireless connection the odds of those two thing happening are very slim.

But if you know who you are leeching off of maybe you could offer to split the bill for broadband. We share it with our neighbors.

by 'random wireless connection'? You mean you are on a laptop and you got an IP address from some unknown wireless router? In that case you will have whatever IP address that router assigns you.
