Help! A computer question.
I have a question for the more tech-savvy DUers.

Recently I have be seeing some errors on certain sites. Not DU but on the sites LJ, IJ, youtube, photobucket. The comments and photos are a goobleygook of code. And when I post a comment on a LJ/YT/IJ thread, I can't see it if it's below comment 6 or 7, comes out like: visjgsi234ijsl. On Photobucket, I can only see the top row of pics in my albums. People can see and respond if I leave a comment but I can't see the thread on my computer.

What do you suppose is causing this???

Thank you for any replies.

1. Well, we need some detail ...

First of all, what web browser (and which version of it) are you using?

I don't have the first clue what LJ, YT, or IJ are.

The "visjgsi234ijsl" snippet isn't "code." It is gobbledygook, but just that doesn't provide much information. Would it be possible for you to post a screenshot of the issue?

Photobucket has some weird code that doesn't interact well with some browsers and/or configurations. And, they seem to change it a lot. One day, it'll be all groovy, and the next, they've added a "feature" that screws it all up.

In any case, based on your initial description, I'd tentatively guess this is a javascript problem of some sort, but that's a wild guess. You could also have security settings or security software that is blocking some of the code that those sites need to run to display things for you properly.

2. What browser are you using?
Try Firefox and/or Opera and tell us if you get the same symptoms.
