is there a way to turn off Windows password login?
I did all the updates & patches for windows 98 and now everytime I shut down and reboot I get the user/password box. I click cancel but can't seem to find a way to avoid it.

2. A third way:
Delete the windoze client login in the network control panel.
Windoze will whine about your network not being complete, but you
can still do non-windoze networking (Netscape, IE, Mozilla etc.).

The drawback is you can't share printers or drives, but if you
don't care about that, it works.

3. Do A Search For...
*.pwl. and delete the results. Now re-boot, When the login prompt appears again, simply hit enter. Do not enter a password and do not hit cancel or the esc key. When the confirmation prompt appears, clear both password fields and hit enter. Now re-boot. If you are still getting a prompt from "Windows Networking" Set your "Primary Login" to anything but "Client For Microsoft Networks". The next time you reboot you should be all good.
