printer repair ?
hello to the geek forum. i live in a house full of geeks, so i don't often have questions. but i have a problem now that is a little more up my own alley, and i need some help. (i am the mechanically inclined one.)

so, the problem is my printer. i lucked into a nice large format phaser/xerox color laser from a friends dot.bomb. i have lived in fear ever since that i would have to cough up for a xerox tech to make a house call for this puppy. (it weighs a ton, no way to take it anywhere.) so, it has been having intermittent paper feed troubles for a while and has finally gone kaput.
the error message is engine failure. i can't really find out what that means exactly. but from looking at the diagrams, it appears that there is a registration clutch that is failing.
so, does anyone know anything about this? i'm pretty sure from looking at it that this clutch is an easy repair. the question is, how do i know that is really the problem?
anybody know anything about this?

2. i found a great website
http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/

they helped me out. i was able to get a copy of my manual through one of the posters, and was able to ask a couple of questions. i had a fouled sensor. it is working now, although it needs a repair sometime soon. i think i should be able to do that, not something too tough.
very cool. nice folks.
