Netscape vs windows
Putting netscape on windows caused a ton of problems, which, over the course of weeks were worked around.

Attempted to plug netscape in a friends comp the other day, his XP wouldn't budge. Don't have time to play around with his comp, anyone remember the shortcut to making windows eat netscape without so much as a burp?

And yes, firefox is on order. Will windows try to puke it up too?

Thanks.

1. Don't need to "order" Firefox.
Download it for FREE here:

http://www.mozilla.org/

My XP has had zero problems with Firefox. The "install" is quick and painless.

I suggest that you keep the old InternetExplorer for those rare occasions where it is needed. Windows Update dictates the use of IE.

2. Yeah, I know it's free, thanks 25 megs, right?
As for update, I wouldn't let M$ touch me again. They screwed me up one too many times.

On the friends box, his xp wouldn't let my copy of netscape run, that's what I'm looking for; I don't want to have M$ to have a clue.

4. Here is Netscape and Firefox
Netscape 7.2
Firefox 1.0
Just click and download.
XP has many ways of phoning home so if you use it you are giving Microsoft information if you like it or not.

5. You are mistaken
The Firefox installer for Windows is about 4.7MB.

6. I am having the same problem with my new computer
Just got it today, IE won't let me run Netscape. The bar at the top says something like Internet Explorer Netscape search. Very irritating to say the least.
