Why did Eleanor Roosevelt and her cousin, Alice Roosevelt Longworth
fall out? They were close as children. Alice was a bridesmaid for Eleanor.

Was it politics with Eleanor being a democrat and Alice being a republican? (Alice's husband was the Speaker of the House, Nicholas Longworth.)

While Eleanor didn't denigrate her cousin in public, Alice made scathing remarks about her and FDR.

What's the real story?
