Trouble with GIMP 2.4. It is so slow. It can't keep up with my
mouse. I am using a Core2 Duo with 1 gig memory. GIMPShop worked well on this machine but will not work with 10.5.

Now that Photoshop will not work with OSX 10.5, I am looking for a temporary replacement. Damn Adobe!!!

Any suggestions?

1. I noticed (from the Photography forum),
That you're running Photoshop 7.

Don't blame Adobe that it doesn't work with 10.5. Photoshop 7 is a "classic" program, designed for OS 9 or earlier. Apple made the decision to kill classic support. So if you have any program released before OS X, none of them will work. Even programs like MS Office 2001.

The only way Adobe can "fix" the problem is to give you a free upgrade, and I'm not aware of that being in the user agreement. Complain to Apple, or wait awhile. Maybe someone will develop a "classic" emulation program for 10.5

2. Did you ever get things worked out? I don't have a Mac, so I have no idea why
it would be so slow. I'm running 2.4 on a six year old laptop, and I haven't had any problems.

3. It was the problem with X11. I updated it and it now works.
