...Fedora Core 3. Runs smooth as silk, has a great GUI, and is Totally Free (no licensing nonsense like RHEL, Libranet, or previous versions of SuSE).

Is now running as the server of an attorney's office I migrated to Linux. Everybody's happy.

P.S.: Slackware was my first distro. Don't ask me the version. Kernel was 2.0.27 IIRC. Year was 1997.

...nobody has yet created a "best of both worlds" distro which runs from the CD and has the kickass on-the-fly hardware detection of Knoppix, and the sleekness of Fedora.

I started a few months ago and finally divulged in on my sister's birthday, November 7th of this year. It took me forever in Mandrake, Fedora, Gentoo, and Knoppix to get my MA111 wireless adapter up and running.

...I suspect Novell will sufficiently "corporatize" Suse until it becomes a vague shadow of what it was, and then I'll move on to fedora. Oh screw it! You know what? Why wait?

It's been quite a while since I looked at that distro -- which has my vote for coolest logo ever!

I used to be a diehard Debian user but lately I've become a SuSE lover. Redhat on the server, FreeBSD many moons ago.

When it comes down to it, I have a big tent approach to Linux and Unix. I love them all. :-)

new developers. It's a fun project to be involved with. Thanks for the comment on the logo. It couldn't have been timed better, we had just been discussing logos on the IRC channel :)

I feel the same way about Linux and BSD. Though I use NetBSD, originally because that was what was available for my Atari.
