Great family pot-luck picnic -
My oldest brother is in town from TX and niece is down from the Bay area for a couple of days.

Picnic in a local park -

Tuna / egg salad with sandwich fixings - bread, cheese and romaine
Vegan potato salad (soy mayo works...who knew?)
Cucumber and red onion salad
Tabbouleh with cherry tomatoes
Pita bread
Avocados, lime, green chilies
Roasted sweet & spicy nuts
Black olives
Grapes
Pears
Sparkling water

Nice low key, laid back get-together. :hi:

1. That sounds perfect.
Today on Martha Stewart I saw a cool idea for a picnic salad -- it was packed into a jar in layers. This version had some dressed tuna, then a layer of spinach, then a layer of marinated beans, then some more spinach, then some chorizo and a hard boiled egg only halved. It looks nice in the jar, in colorful layers and keeps in the frig for 2 days or so. A veggie version would be easy.
