I seem to already be buried in em from the CSA box- and this was very informative. I knew most of it but the mallet and saw are new to me- seem rather appropriate with zombies and Halloween afoot! :D

I couldn't get a knife or any other implement into it -- hardest squash I'v ever encountered. So, I wrapped it up in a couple of garbage bags and let it become one with the concrete of my driveway. That worked, it broke into small enough pieces to fit into the oven.

I haven't been around lately, it was a very crazy summer, so I am glad to come here and check out fall and winter recipes, etc.

I just baked a spaghetti squash whole for about a half hour, it was much easier to cut.
