I have some cocoa to share
This is a little unusual, and I haven't seen any posts similar to this one but thought I'd throw it up here and see what happens. If it's inappropriate to post it here, please accept my apology.

I have a 1-lb package of King Arthur's "Black Cocoa" that I don't need and won't be using. I'd love to share it with some of DU's great bakers. If any of you are interested, pm me and we'll talk about it. I could break it up into 1/4 or 1/2 lb portions if the whole 1 lb seems like too daunting a quantity, or if multiple folks here want some.

Here's KA's link (it shows a 12-oz package, but I have a full 16-oz pound bag to share:

2. I just made this lovely cake.....If you want to use some of this here's a way to go!
This cake is so easy and very very moist. When you mix it the batter is very thin but it bakes up beautifully. This is a similar recipe to the cupcake recipe that won that last cupcake contest on Food Network...so it translates easily into little cakes as well.

http://www.instructables.com/id/The-BEST-chococlate-cake-ever...that-happens-to-be/

1 1/4 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup warm water
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp distilled white or apple cider vinegar

Chocolate Glaze

1/2 cup sugar
4 tbsp margarine
2 tbsp soy milk
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp vanilla extract

Note: if you don't care to make it vegan, or don't have soy milk or margarine, you can use butter in place of the margarine, and whatever milk you prefer in place of the soy.

3. "Black Chocolate" Recipes
http://search.kingarthurflour.com/search.jsp?N=1000014&Ntt=black+cocoa&rt=r#fragement-2

here's a list of 16 recipes from King Arthur using their Black Cocoa. It includes clone recipes for Famous Chocolate Wafers and Oreos, along with deep chocolate Whoopie Pies, a pair of brownie recipes, some cakes, cookies and more. Most of the recipes combine the black cocoa with either natural cocoa or dutched cocoa for richer and more mellow flavors.

PM me if you'd like some.
