Question on seafood stock......I just cleaned about 3 lbs of crab legs
Can I boil the shells and the crab meat that I couldn't reach to make a seafood stock?

1. Yes, you can
That's how crab stock would be made. Add just enough water to cover, add some seasonings and/or veggies as you wish, and let 'er rip. Ideally you'll get a strong or useables tock. If strong, add water. If useable .... use it.

Bring it to the boil, but then reduce to a simmer. Then let it go for an hour or so. You may also have to strain or skim it. Crab will leave a foamy top on the water. It won't hurt anything, but it makes the resulting stock cloudy. Skim that off or strain it all through cheesecloth. Alternatively, sorta push the foam to one side and gently lift out the stock with a ladle, being carefl not to stir it (thereby re-incorporating the foam).
