Happy Father's Day! WHAT'S COOKIN' this week? # # # # # # # # #
We're off to the in-laws and I wasn't asked to bring anything. Not sure if I should be scared or not, lol.

If we're not stuffed, I'll grill some steaks later.

I've been making a good bit of herb butter lately. I just chop everything I can find from the herb garden, mix it and pour it on whatever we're having. I have some cream cheese to use up and I hear an herb spread calling my name.

I made a peanut butter pie with reese cup pieces on top for Father's Day. It's the basic recipe with a little less sugar but nobody seemed to notice.

What's up where you are?

chicken piccata: http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/chicken_piccata/ with pasta amatriciana: http://www.cook-italian.com/weblog/2009/08/amatriciana-recipe.html and some green beans and yellow squash from our garden.

Bill wants zucchini bread for breakfast this week. Poor guy, he's been waiting for zukes from the garden and even though we were being good at going out and picking off the squash bugs and their eggs, they still decimated the zukes. So we bought some.

That's about all I got at the moment. Was going to do preserves today and had Bill check the propane tank. We are almost empty! Yikes! :wow: Gonna have to freeze the rest of the fruit and get the tank filled tomorrow.

Are your in-laws not very good cooks? Your peanut butter pie sounds yummy and dangerous. herb butter sounds wonderful. Makes me want to make some bread but it's gonna have to wait for the propane delivery, too. Sigh.

it, then rubbed it with a seasoning called Peri Peri spice rub and slapped it on the grill. It was extraordinarily delicious. Served with mashed potatoes, spinach, broccoli, and vinegar cucumbers. My sister made a heavenly fresh peach & blackberry pie with homemade vanilla ice cream. We were all groaning when it was over.

Edit to add a picture of the pie:

5. Beautiful! We had turkey, too...
Ended up sort of an open face sandwich. I half planned on roll-ups but by the time we stuffed everything on, they ended up like tacos.
